My Review...

I have to admit, it’s been a bit since I have been able to review Rachel Van Dyken’s stories, so when this opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance!

The Godparent Trap has all the elements of a fantastic slow burn, heartbreaking, and heart-mending story! As soon as I read the prologue, I knew I was in for a rollercoaster of feelings.

This is the story of Colby and Rip and the heartbreak and chaos that ensues after a horrible tragedy.

I absolutely empathized with Colby, to be thrust into a world where she had no clue what to do. But her love for Viera and Ben helped her overcome her fear of failing them. 

Rip, oh this fella, this straight shooter with math on his mind and order in his stone-covered heart. At least that’s the persona he clings to. But with the help of the kids and Colby, he could see what a softie he really was. 

The secondary characters are amazing! Banks was hilarious, and I loved his mugs!

Now when I see a butterfly, it will make me think of my loved ones.

My Review...

Another installment in the Paradise Bay series brings readers again to the Spearman family, more directly to Fern Spearman.

Fern has had to become the “mom” of her siblings. She, along with her older brothers take over where their mother left. Truly turning her into the person she has become. Always putting others’ needs before her own and trying to handle her mother has made Fern too busy to think of herself and what she wants.

Then along came Elliot, a wandering soul that also has his past shape who he is. He gives, but truly never receives. He is punishing himself for something beyond his control and is trying to make amends the way he thinks is best.

A chance meeting between Fern and Elliot causes sparks to fly and a working partnership that truly evolves to something more.

I absolutely love the way that Ms. Burgoa writes her heroes, when they catch feelings, they don’t run and hide, they are brave and strong and not afraid to show their feelings and what their person means to them.

Now I will be the first to admit, I am not a huge paranormal story fan, but when I read the blurb for Ms. Boldt’s book, I wanted to check it out and I am so glad I did!

I have been a fan of Ms. Boldt’s writing for years, and I knew if I was going to read a trope I am not 100% on board with, her story would be it.

This story has a paranormal element, but Ms. Boldt doesn’t beat the reader to death with it. She makes the story about so much more than the “darkness” that surrounds the heroine, Georgia.

This story of Georgia and Bronson is action-packed and I didn’t want to put it down once I started it! 

Georgia has a gift, or what she claims is a curse. Her childhood is so terrifying that I was surprised that she turned out as beautifully as she was.

Bronson is a gangbanger with a heart of gold, his alpha persona is never more evident when he becomes part of Georgia’s life.

Their chemistry is wicked hot and you could see the vulnerabilities of both Bronson and Georgia in the pages. 

I am always blown away by the writing talent of RC Boldt and this story is no exception! Thank you for making me enjoy paranormal romance again!

P.S. I also wanted to praise the setup for the next story in this world, bring on Daniel!

The next generation of Cloverleigh Farm characters are blowing me away!

This is Felicity and Hutton’s story and I fell for them both hard!

Felicity is so adorkable and her idiosyncrasies are both charming and also heartbreaking. To have that hurt from her past cause a scar that has lasted her whole life and molded her to the person she is today. Her friendship with Hutton is her saving grace, her soft place to fall and she cherishes it. 

Hutton, I have never wanted to hug a hero so hard as I do him. I could so empathize with his social anxiety and to read how his mental state and emotions were so debilitating at times made my heart hurt. 

The friendship between Hutton and Felicity was perfection, they smoothed each other’s sharp edges and Felicity was the perfect Yin to Hutton’s Yang.

When their “fake” engagement becomes more real and they added the physical to their relationship….wowza that was some kind of heat and smexiness! Hutton is a definition of still waters run deep. 

You are going to love this newest story in this series! This can be read as a stand-alone, but do yourself a favor and read them all!

This story was so worth the wait!

The last Beckett cousin, the last man standing, this is Nash Beckett’s story.

He believes he has the perfect idea to win the bet, to claim the prize. Enter into a fake marriage, no love, all business. But it was fantastic to see that plan get blown to bits when he marries Chelle.

I applaud Ms. Flynn for Chelle, the heroine in this story, a vintage gal, a gal that isn’t “popularly beautiful” she is one of the most real characters I have read. Chelle is someone I could truly root for in this story. I could really imagine her as myself or any of my friends. 

And oh my me…the relationship that develops between Nash and Chelle, the way that Nash sees Chelle, the way he describes her in his mind is such a balm to a self-conscious soul. The way that he not only cherishes her but how, in time and a bit of tribulation, the way he knows when to back down and not try to fix or mansplain things.

This is an absolutely fantastic story and the perfect ending to the Last Man Standing series. I cannot wait to see what Ms. Flynn comes out with next!

Another stellar story from Ms. Renshaw, another reason to be even more of a fan!

This story checked all my boxes for a romance. 

This story of West and Elle is smart, swoony and the sparks between these two was on fire!

Elle has had a literal life-changing experience and had an epiphany concerning her current career and what she wanted to do. Add some Dove chocolate quotes and she makes big moves. I loved her tenacity to speak the truth, but also how she didn’t really realize her own truth. 

West is a tough nut to crack, but once Elle does, you get to see his swoony insides. There is a reason why he the way he is and when you find out it, well it made me a bit weepy. When he brings Elle into his world to help, it just reaffirms what a gem he has had in his orbit.

From the glittery high rises of Manhattan to the desolate small towns of Nebraska, you are taken on a journey of self-discovery, self-preservation, love of family, and the sometimes dirty truth.  

Well done, Ms. Renshaw! Another jewel in the crown of your talented writing tiara!

Who doesn’t love a good amnesia story! Add the talented writer that is Ms. Micheals and you get a beautifully written story and start a new series.

This is the story of Spencer and Brielle and so much more.

Waking up from a tragedy, Brielle can’t remember the last 3 years of her life. Her family and friends have instructions not to fill in any of the missing memories, she needs to remember herself and the world she lost. She struggles hard and with the help of her brother’s friends, especially Spencer, she does whatever she can to gain back what was lost.

Spencer, oooo you fabulous fella! He knows her missing time and it’s heartbreaking to see him try to navigate his feelings and watch Brielle struggle to find herself again. He is her constant, her truth, her safe space, but is he really? Read this story to find out more!

This was a perfect blend of mystery, action, swoons, and angst! You get it all in this new story, you get all the feels, cheer on the characters, and a great introduction to a new cast of characters. I loved the setup to the next story!
