Wowza, just wowza…
I am a sucker for an amnesia trope. A well-written story with a forgetful main character is my weakness.
Take this new story by Ms. Sorenson. This story of Mercy and Grant is just amazing.
Now I will say, Mercy as the heroine-it took me a minute to fully embrace her. She has a lot of jagged edges, while I love a gal who sticks to her guns and is fiercely independent; she was a bit more prickly than I expected. You get a glimpse of her background and her past, and that helps explain the way she is and that helps.
Grant, first, who doesn’t love a hero with an accent? I know I do. Second, the way that he has to navigate around Mercy’s diagnosis and seeing his struggles with it is both heartwarming and swoony. Second, reading his chapters just made me fall even harder for him.
The chemistry between these two burns up the pages, and I couldn’t put this down once I started.
