This small town could be big enough for both of them . . .
Quiet. Serious. Protective. All words Stone Sylver would use to describe himself. And yet, something in his classic blue eyes said he was so much more. Buried beneath the years of raising his younger siblings and being a small town sheriff was a man looking for love.
Of course, I didn’t get all that the first night we met. The night we did a one-two step in a hotel hallway and knocked heads. The same night we shared a sweet potato cupcake and a single kiss.
Why didn’t we share more? The moment became a great mystery to me and because I thought he was only a brief interlude in my wanderlust life, I wasn’t prepared to see him again in Sterling Falls.
Visiting the small town where I once lived, I learn the man who I witnessed act like a superhero was more entwined in my past than I’d remembered. And for a woman often afraid of a future, I suddenly craved one…with him. Which made no sense as I’d never stuck in one place before. No one had ever asked me to stay.
Then again, from our first encounter, I knew Stone Sylver was different.

My Review...
Gahhhh!! The eldest Sylver sibling finally gets his story in the latest installment of the Sterling Falls series.
This is the story of Stone and Taxi.
All that Stone has given up and what he has lost has shaped him into the man that he is. Devoted, dedicated, and a true family man in every sense of the word. Now that his siblings have found loves of their own, he wants someone for himself, selfishly just for him.
Enter Taxi, she is an artist in the true sense of the word. She is untethered, by choice or by circumstance. She has had a rough upbringing, and she, too, wants someone to pick her.
This story really pulled on my heartstrings. It made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me see the beautiful relationship that bloomed between the “beige” of Stone and the “periwinkle” of Taxi.
It was lovely to see all the Sylver siblings take part in this story; it was like attending a family reunion and looking forward to it.
Whether or not we see more of this family and the beautiful town that Ms. Dubar created, I am here for it. I am enamoured with this whole world and the families within it.
