I can see the heat in her eyes and right away I know.

“You watched me?” I ask.

Her dark eyes widen, but she doesn’t look away.

“Yes.” She swallows hard.

“Did you like it?” I ask her.

“Remi,” she admonishes sharply, but I don’t miss the way she shifts her stance. She liked it.

“I want to hear you say it.” I ask again.

She nods and sucks her fat lower lip into her mouth.

I want to suck it, too.

“You know you could have gotten in and watched up close. You could have helped if you wanted.”

I circle her wrists and hold her hands in front of my face.

“They’re a little small, they wouldn’t fit all the way ’round.”

She draws in a big gulp of air and takes a step closer to me.

“Really?” she whispers her eyes flit down to my pants.

“I would have covered your hands with mine. We could have done it together.”

I let go of her wrists and slide my hands up so that we’re palm to palm.

Skin to skin.

It’s not nearly enough.

I’m this close to crossing a line I shouldn’t. But, when it comes to Kal, I can’t seem to help myself.

“Remi…we shouldn’t.” Her voice is husky and her fingers flex a little against mine.

“Yeah, probably not,” I agree, but I see the reflection of my own disappointment flash in her eyes and it emboldens me.

I know I should stand down. Even if it feels like it, we aren’t a good idea.

But she’s so tempting. And when it comes to her, I can’t seem to get a grip on my control.

I link our fingers and bring her hand to my lips for a kiss. She inhales sharply and looks up at me through the inky fringe of her lashes.

Her gaze lingers longingly on my mouth and I smile.

“Oh, Kal. We have a dilemma.” I drawl.

“Really? Then why do you sound amused? A dilemma isn’t generally a good thing.” The corners of her mouth turn up in a small smile.

“It’s a very good thing…because even though you don’t want to be, and I absolutely shouldn’t be, we’re interested in each other.”

“Well, that’s the perfect recipe for an unhappy ending, if I ever heard one.”

When I opened my eyes, the door to the bathroom opened and Cade stepped in, his face and hair soaked with rain. I watched him pull his shirt over his head, remove his boots, and the rest of his clothes. When he was completely naked, he stepped into the shower, and without a word, took me in his arms and pressed his mouth to mine. My body immediately responded and I melted against him, seeking comfort and pleasure in his hard body as it commanded me backwards until my back was against the wet, tiled wall. His big hands moved up to my face while his mouth moved fiercely over mine until his kiss left me breathless.

But his kiss petered out as his emotion overtook him. I looked up into his tormented
face. Pain and grief were like shadows in his eyes. His face was stiff and I could feel his heartbreak radiating from him with every beat of his heart. He dropped his forehead to mine.

“I don’t know how to do this,” he said, his voice deep and strong, but at the same time, pained and heartbroken.

“It’s going to be okay,” I whispered.

He drew in a deep breath, his hooded eyes fixed to mine. “I don’t know what I would do if I lost you . . .” His voice broke and his thumbs found the slick skin of my lower lip, his eyes intensely focused on it. I had only seen Cade cry once.
When he was eighteen and he’d ridden all the way to Seattle to beg me to come back to him after we had broken up. Otherwise, he was fiercely stoic. But now,
standing in the steam, he was barely in control.

“I’m not going anywhere,” I replied.

His anguish was deep. I watched him squeeze his eyes shut and felt the slow exhale of breath as he opened them again. Droplets of water fell in rivulets down his beautiful face and dripped onto his parted lips. His brows drew together.

“It hurts,” he whispered.

I nodded.
“I know.”

He tried to kiss me but his lips trembled against mine and he pulled away. He slapped his palms against the tiled wall and took a moment. Water poured over his head and down his broad, muscular back. His face crumpled and he slowly sank to his knees, burying his face in my stomach.

My Review…

I am so glad I got the opportunity to read and review this story in preparation for Buzz (her next book releasing on April 1).

Another new to me author and this story is a breath of fresh air.

The Honey Trap is the story of Sophia and Mason.

Sophia is a professional honey trap. She is hired to catch cheaters and she is very good at her job. Sophia has a reason for her chosen profession, a chance for vengeance perhaps? When she meets her next assignment, Mason…well things are not what they seem and she has a crisis of conscience.

Mason is trying to start anew, let the past be in the past. But things and people are keeping him from moving forward to the future. He sees a future with Sophia, but is that the truth?

Mason & Sophia’s chemistry is a beautiful slow burn. Between Mason’s privacy and his soon to be ex-wife and Sophia’s struggle to come clean and be honest with Mason their relationship was fun to read.

I loved the little hints of other romance books in this story! From the movies to Sophia’s friend Lori who is a much of a book lover as I am. The secondary characters bring a hilarity to this story. I cannot wait to see more of Lori and Buzz in the next story!

If you are looking for a lovely romance with a bit of comedy, some fun little hints of other fantastic romance books and lots of heart, get your hands on this!

I look forward to stalking Ms. Perrin in the future!

Pippa Grant is the bee’s knees of quirky, funny romance!

This is a new series from her Bro Code and this is Ellie and Wyatt’s story.

Ellie is fabulous! She has been through some pretty tragic stuff but when push comes to shove, she is there when needed and doesn’t want to depend on anyone. Even when it hurts her more to do things on her own.

Wyatt is a military man. He is struggling with his responsibility to his service and his responsibilities as a father. He has known Ellie for decades and after a brief hook up that ended horribly they are thrown together again.

My Review…

Now I will admit, that YA and NA romance are not usually my go to for romance. As a more “vintage” gal myself, I sometimes struggle with the age of the characters that trope.

But when it comes to Siobhan Davis’ stories…it’s makes me a fan. Her characters have a maturity to them.

This is Ryder and Zeta’s story. In this story, the maturity level comes from the horrific childhoods both Ryder and Zeta have lived through. The scars of those childhoods have had lasting effects on both of them.

This is a story with so much angst, so much heartbreak but through it all there is love, a deep and abiding love that spans years. Even when the heartbreak that Ryder has caused Zeta, this story is about forgiveness.

I applauded Zeta’s strength of character. She is strong when she needs to be, but she also shows her vulnerability when warranted.

Ryder, oh my me, this poor, poor man. The struggles he goes through, the guilt he carries. Then bombshell after bombshell is dropped upon him until he just can’t anymore. It was refreshing to see hero with such flaws, it made him more real and how my heart breaked for him.

Everytime I read a Siobhan Davis story, I am stunned, surprised and become an even bigger fan than I am now! Well done Siobhan!!

I was holding my breath.

I wasn’t even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his body—the taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back.

Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel it—he wanted me the way I wanted him.

No wonder I couldn’t breathe.

Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. “Sure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.”

I’d forgotten I’d even asked the question.

He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt.
