My Review…

Now I will admit, that YA and NA romance are not usually my go to for romance.  As a more “vintage” gal myself, I sometimes struggle with the age of the characters that trope.

But when it comes to Siobhan Davis’ stories…it’s makes me a fan.  Her characters have a maturity to them.

This is Ryder and Zeta’s story. In this story, the maturity level comes from the horrific childhoods both Ryder and Zeta have lived through.  The scars of those childhoods have had lasting effects on both of them.

This is a story with so much angst, so much heartbreak but through it all there is love, a deep and abiding love that spans years.  Even when the heartbreak that Ryder has caused Zeta, this story is about forgiveness.

I applauded Zeta’s strength of character.  She is strong when she needs to be, but she also shows her vulnerability when warranted.

Ryder, oh my me, this poor, poor man.  The struggles he goes through, the guilt he carries.  Then bombshell after bombshell is dropped upon him until he just can’t anymore.  It was refreshing to see hero with such flaws, it made him more real and how my heart breaked for him.

Everytime I read a Siobhan Davis story, I am stunned, surprised and become an even bigger fan than I am now! Well done Siobhan!!

When I opened my eyes, the door to the bathroom opened and Cade stepped in, his face and hair soaked with rain.

I watched him pull his shirt over his head, remove his boots, and the rest of his clothes. When he was completely naked, he stepped into the shower, and without
a word, took me in his arms and pressed his mouth to mine. My body immediately responded and I melted against him, seeking comfort and pleasure in his hard body as it commanded me backwards until my back was against the wet, tiled wall. His big hands moved up to my face while his mouth moved fiercely over mine until his kiss left me breathless.    

But his kiss petered out as his emotion overtook him. I looked up into his tormented face. Pain and grief were like shadows in his eyes. His face was stiff and I
could feel his heartbreak radiating from him with every beat of his heart. He dropped his forehead to mine.

 “I don’t know how to do this,” he said, his voice deep and strong, but at the same time, pained and heartbroken.

“It’s going to be okay,” I whispered.

He drew in a deep breath, his hooded eyes fixed to mine. “I don’t know what I would do if I lost you . . .” His voice broke and his thumbs found the slick skin of my lower lip, his eyes intensely focused on it. I had only seen Cade cry once.
When he was eighteen and he’d ridden all the way to Seattle to beg me to come
back to him after we had broken up. Otherwise, he was fiercely stoic. But now, standing in the steam, he was barely in control.

“I’m not going anywhere,” I replied.

His anguish was deep. I watched him squeeze his eyes shut and felt the slow exhale of breath as he opened them again. Droplets of water fell in rivulets down his beautiful face and dripped onto his parted lips.

His brows drew together.

“It hurts,” he whispered.

I nodded.
“I know.”

He tried to kiss me but his lips trembled against mine and he pulled away. He slapped his palms against the tiled wall and took a moment. Water poured over his head and down his broad, muscular back. His face crumpled and he slowly sank to his knees, burying his face in my stomach.

A Rivers Wilde Story…

Oh my me, Ms. Allen, you have done it again! You have made me fall in love even more with the fictional place of Rivers Wilde.

The drama, the mystery, the intrigue and the love…all the love. It’s like if the tv show Dynasty and The Notebook had a love child…and it’s beautiful!

The Legend takes place right where The Legacy stops.  This is Remington’s story, this is Kalilah’s story and what a story it is.

Remi & Kal’s love and friendship as spanned decades.  Even with the obstacles that are thrown their way, when fate decides that the time isn’t right their connection stays strong.  And that strength is tested again and again.

The family skeletons are coming out of the closet in full force. And what bombshells they are! Make sure you read this story slowly so you don’t miss any small twist and turn! Ms. Allen has a magic to her words.  She has weaved a story so beautifully that I could almost “see” Rivers Wilde. I found myself stopping and re-reading passages quite a few times, even going back to the start to really embrace this.

The secrets and lies that have plagued both the Rivers and the Wilde family are slowly coming to light, each book is epic in it’s own way and I cannot wait to read Reagan’s story next!

Oh how I love the worlds that Melanie Harlow creates! I love how past characters make subtle cameos!

Irresistible is the first story in the Cloverleigh Farms series.  This is the story of Frannie and Mack!

I flove Mack! He is a single dad of three girls.  He is an overwhelmed, stressed out dad.  I admired how Ms. Harlow gave him real feelings! You know the ones that most parents have…yes they are a bit selfish, but they are real! I fell hard for him when reading his struggles of everyday life with them!

Frannie is my hero! She was undemanding, but she made it clear how she felt about Mack and the girls.  She knew of the obstacles and Mack’s priorities and she embraced them just as hard as she embraced the girls and Mack.

Frannie and Mack’s chemistry was amazingly hot! Their relationship felt real and honest, it wasn’t sunshine and rainbows all the time, there was times of strife and disappointment but it made the happy times so much more sweeter!

The secondary characters are amazing, I loved Millie, Felicity and Winnie they brought so much more to the story! The Sawyer sisters are going to be epic! I can’t wait to read about Chloe’s story next! (My namesake!!! OK, OK, I know she’s not named after me, but a gal can dream right?!?)

My Review…

Whether it’s a gritty raw romance, angst riddled love or a bit of a mystery wrapped in romance. T.K. Leigh can write them all beautifully.

Dating Games is the story of Evie and Julian.

I absolutely loved Evie! She is fierce, she is sassy, she embraces her quirks.  Even when the person who is supposed to love her doesn’t.  The way that you read about Evie’s insecurities makes you love her even more! She has a group of ride or die friends that every gal wishes they had.

Julian is an enigma, wrapped in a riddle and surrounded by secrets and scars. It was moving to see how he adapted to his “relationship” with Evie.

There is a bit of a mystery in this story, you get hints early on, so play close attention, don’t rush through this story, savor it!

The chemistry between Evie and Julian is a slow burn of epic proportions.  Julian, holy swoon, that man has game! From small touches to his words are just wowza…. To see them both navigate their arrangement, from beginning to end was something that I didn’t want to see end.

I have yet to read a book by Ms. Leigh that I haven’t enjoyed immensely and Dating Games is just another jewel in the crown of her success as a writer.
