Charlie Harrington is a respectable man. Mayor to his small, mountain town. Successful attorney. Dotting single father. After one mishap in the past, he avoids scandal. The Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge

My oh my, how I am in flove with the Harrington family! Each sibling’s story just brings more and more happiness and swoons to my heart!

The queen of over 40 romance is at it again with Silver Mayor! It gives us vintage gals such a proverbial hug and fist bump (are those still cool?)!

This is the story of Blue Ridge mayor Charlie Harrington and Janessa Cruz.  From their initial meeting to the very page, their chemistry and relationship is full of sparks, heat and swoons!  I was grabbing my fan and a cool beverage while reading their story.

Charlie is a single dad, trying to be both dad and mom to his daughter.  He is worried about his image and the fight it was to keep him in the mayoral seat. When he realizes the specialness and love he feels for Janessa, he stumbles a bit on how to make things go his way and realizes sometimes it doesn’t.

Janessa is a single mom also. She wants a fresh, new start.  She is tired of just being the arm candy spouse, seen and not heard.  Her Latina heritage won’t let her back down for fighting what she wants.  She is a fiery habanero and  I admired how she navigates her relationship with Charlie, her daughter and her ex-husband.

You are going to get all the feels when you read this story! You get heart, heat and the swoons!

“Hello, this is Ashley.”

“Am I supposed to find your antics clever?” A growly yet refined voice barks in my ear. Colton.

“Actually, you’re supposed to say ‘thank you.’ Or are you one of those men who feels emasculated by receiving flowers?”

“No, I’m the kind of man who isn’t swayed by paltry attempts at bribery.”

Why would fate assign me such a monumental jackass as my soulmate? Clearly the universe has a sick sense of humor. “Good thing I’m not trying to bribe you, then,” I say, lying through my teeth.

“Aren’t you, though? Muffins, flowers, what’s next? Maybe a box of chocolates? Half of your peanut butter sandwich? I’m not your grade school crush. I’m a professional, Miss Murphy, and only work with other professionals, which you have demonstrated time and time again, you are not.”

I tap the speaker button on my phone and toss it down on my desk. This man makes me insane. “You are truly the most condescending man I’ve ever met. You don’t know me well enough to have formed these kinds of opinions about me.”

In all honesty, his extreme dislike of me hurts. A lot. Especially with how my heart and soul long for his. He means for his words to dissuade me—to break me—but every single insult and rebuff only makes me want to prove him wrong that much more.

“They say the truth hurts, Miss Murphy. It’s not my fault you’re ill-equipped to handle the pain.”

I clench my fists so tightly my nails dig into my palms, leaving behind little crescent-shaped marks. This man makes me want to commit felonies—you know, like murder. I wonder, since he’s my soulmate, could it be classed as a crime of passion? “I can handle everything you dish out and more.”

Colton makes a noise low in his throat, and I can nearly picture the sneer on his face. “Is that a threat?”

“It’s a promise, Mr. Banks. Do your worst; I’ll not only take it—I’ll return it back tenfold.”

“You don’t have it in you.” He laughs cruelly, the dark tenor of it winding around my heart in inky swirls.

“I’m far stronger than you give credit for.” Not to mention, my plan of attack is to repay his barbs with kindness. Something tells me that will knock him off guard far more than volleying back with harsh words or petty.

“You mistake strength for stupidity.”

“And you underestimate me.” I end the call before he can reply, crumpling down to my desk chair with my heart thundering and my pulse racing.

I’ll show that sexy, arrogant jackass exactly who he’s up against. I may be quirky and kind, but those two qualities are exactly what give me an edge. Colton Banks is used to sharks and snakes, but he’s about to be brought to his knees by a creature far more deadly—a woman scorned.

Another fantastic, fast-paced story by Ms. Farlow.

This is the story of Colton and Ashley, a true opposites attract novel!

Colton is a straight-laced and unbending as they come. He is ruthlessly honest and unapologetic. When he first runs into Ashley he is put off immediately.

Ashley is an artist, a dreamer and she is in tune with love. Between the couples that she works with and when she finds her soulmate. Even when said soulmate is against everything that she is.

It was entertaining to read the push and pull between Colton and Ashley. I loved Ashley’s tenacity, and I also applauded her for standing up for herself and not letting Colton walk all over her.

When a surprise rocks Colton to his core, it is when you see Ashley truly shine and Colton see her for what she is worth. He realizes the depth of character she has and wants to know more.

Get your hands on this entertaining, full of heart and heat story by LK Farlow!

Ashes & Embers Book 6

I have been waiting for this story since I first read about Asher, way back in the day! Now this can totally be read as a standalone and please don’t be discouraged by the series number of this! I am telling you right now….READ THIS!

Asher is Asher and Ember’s story, their long history, their love that encompasses and brings them strength, through the good times and the bad.

This novel is going to put your heart in a blender set on frappe.  I felt all the emotions in this book.  In fact I had to put down my kindle because I was afraid my tears (a full-fledged ugly cry) was going to short it out. I would catch myself laughing out loud, and I fell in love hard with both Asher and Ember.

This story is about learning to love again and the magic that happens when two soul mates go through tragedy. To look to a new future, to try to let the past go and be in the now.

Ms. Cole has an absolute magical writing style, she brings the reader into the world she creates and makes you feel like your part of the story.  You become invested in the outcome of her characters, you will laugh, cry, and cheer them on like they were your own family and friends.

This is definitely in the running for my “Best Reads of 2020”. Well done!

Park Ranger #2

I am so in awe of this series from Daisy Prescott.  The world she creates within the Smartypants Romance arena is so on point and relevant.

This is the story of Daphne and Odin.

Both characters have a shaky past and I admire the quirkiness of both of them. I admired the courage of Daphne and her innocence in discovering her new world.

Odin is an enigma! It was a delight to find out more about his history and the way he became the character he is today.

The chemistry between Odin and Daphne is both swoony and funny.  I loved the humor and the situations that both Daphne and Odin find themselves in throughout the story.

It was also fun to see past characters make an appearance and how seamlessly they wove into the fabric of Green Valley and all of its inhabitants.  I cannot wait to see what comes next from Ms. Prescott.
