My Review…

When I saw the lineup for this series, and then seeing Ms. Madden-Mills was kicking it off with this first story in the trilogy, I knew I was going to be enthralled by this first story.  And I was right!

This story of River and Anastasia is classic Ilsa Madden-Mills!  You get laughs and heat and so much heart.  The swoon factor in this story is turned all the way to an eleven! (Old movie reference, but still true.)

River is a hero that I truly fell in love with.  With the challenges that he has, (one that hits personally with me) he has made the best of his situation and became a better, more empathetic fella for it.  He loves his family, his frat brothers and he values loyalty and trust above all. 

Anastasia is such a rich character, she has an unconventional upbringing, which has made her the person she is.  Worldly in some ways and yet still naive in others.  She marches to the beat of her own drum and absolutely makes no apologies for it.  Rock on girl!!

The chemistry between River and Anastasia is white hot and it was such a slow, slow burn.  It was brilliant to read it and I found it hard to put this story down until the end.

This story just whets my appetite for the next stories in this series!! As with all of Ilsa Madden-Mills stories, I highly recommend it!

The Bellamy Creek Series

This second book in this new series from Melanie Harlow is nothing short of amazing!

This is the story of Cole and Cheyenne.  Both moving home to start over after heartbreak these two childhood friends are at a crossroads.

Cheyenne has had feelings for Cole since she was a little girl, her big brother’s best friend that she idolized, but she kept quiet for years.  She is back home to start her career, to pay off student loans and find her happily ever after. Living with her mom has added an extra bit of crazy to her world.

Cole also has moved back home, with his mom to help with raising his daughter after his wife passed.  Years have gone by and Cole wants his own space.  

Promises made years ago and unresolved trauma are at the forefront of this story.  I loved the flow and I was pleasantly surprised at the reactions and feelings from the secondary characters!  

Bellamy Creek is a fictional town that I truly wish was real, the townsfolk, the town itself is a beautifully written and creatively described by Ms. Harlow.  A true magic to her words!

I look forward to “visiting” this series and this town again!

What a welcome back to the world of Pucked and All In!  The next generation of characters in a wonderful world that Ms. Hunting has created!

This is Lavender and Kodiak’s story. This not a hearts and flowers story, this is a story full of heart-wrenching moments and the fight to keep the people you love safe and whole.

Lavender has grown up and even though she still has some issues from her past that she continues to work on, she has grown into an amazing young woman with hopes and dreams and even when her family tries to smother her in love and protection, she fights her way to be free and independent.  I applaud and empathize with her fight.  She reminds me of someone very close to me and Ms. Hunting created her realistically and beautifully.

Kodiak has fought and continues to fight his own demons.  He has grown up with Lavender and they form a bond that is scary in its intensity. He only wants what is best for her and he feels he is not what is best.

This story is going to grab your heart from the get-go and not let you go until Ms. Hunting is good and ready to do so. 

I loved that past characters make appearances, but doesn’t distract us from the main theme of the story.  

This is a fabulous introduction to a new generation of characters and I hope that we get to see more of them in future stories!

Yes, yes all the yeses! This new story by Meghan Quinn is another feather in her literary cap!

This is a book lovers’ romance! This story of Greer and Arlo is like a new take on the classic literature that I love!

Even though the hatred and disagreements, you could see something brewing between them.  A thin line between love and hate indeed!

Greer was an amazing character! She was brave, she was caring and she wasn’t willing to settle for less than what she wanted.

Arlo, well this fella I wanted to hate when I first started reading.  He was so arrogant and uptight and he clashed with Greer hard!  But when he decided to go all-in…Holy hotness, this character turned the swoons up to an eleven!

To see past characters make appearances was just the cherry on top of this swoony sundae!

The mix of heart, heat and hilarity that Ms. Quinn puts into her words is nothing short of perfection.

Full of heart-melting moments, this new story by Susana Mohel will give you all the feels.

This is a story that starts at the end and ends with a beautiful new beginning.  This is the story of what a marriage is really about.  It’s not hearts and rainbows every day, it takes work, every day to keep the fires burning.  “Acta non verba” Actions not words it the main premise of this story.

This is about the Leighton family, from the outside, it’s a picture-perfect family.  Bruce and Ilythia (love the name) are soul mates, they are each other’s worlds. That is until forces and complacency start to eat away at the solid foundation that they have built.

I could so empathize with Ilythia’s plight, to feel like she was losing herself in the roles she plays, mother, wife, but what she needs still is to feel like a woman.  A woman with a sense of purpose and goals and she felt like she lost that along the way.

Bruce is trying hard to give his wife what he feels she needs.  But it gets lost in translation.

It was a beautiful story full of poignant moments and a faith in true love and a soul mate.  Well done, Susana! I am so happy to be a part of this journey with you!
