“If you two will excuse me, I have to use the ladies’ room,” I say, and point at my empty glass. “Can you ask for another martini for the road?”

“High altitude,” Jeannette warns me. “Two more and you’ll be showing your favorite pair of panties to the entire restaurant—and this time you won’t be able to claim it was an accident.”

She cackles and I think she’s the drunk one of the two of us.

“Bitch,” I growl and march to the bathroom thinking about how I’m going to get back at her.

I swear she’s so loud, a few tables around us hear her and give me the look. Maybe I should tell her wife some embarrassing stories from when we were young. There’re plenty of those. That might keep them around for a couple of hours—at least one more hour. It’s too early to go back to the hotel.

On my way to the restroom, I try to come up with the best one. Then pull out my phone to see if I have any old pictures. I don’t pay much attention when I enter the restroom, put away my phone, and enter the stall. After I’m done and while I’m washing my hands, I know exactly how Jeannette is going to pay for what she just did.

“Well, this is either a treat or the worst invasion of my privacy.”

I jump and shriek. My heart beats fast but I spin around toward the unexpected male voice. I’m not sure where I should concentrate my attention, his handsome face or the thick and meaty treat he’s holding in his hand.

Yummy, talk about girth and length.

“Wait, what are you doing in the ladies’ room?”

He laughs while putting away his well-endowed package. “I didn’t know they had urinals in the ladies’ room.”

“In the what?” I shriek and look around the bathroom.

And fuck if this isn’t worse than the airport. It’s Jeannette’s fault. She distracted me.

“Oh well,” I say, smiling. “I leave you with your …”

“You should show me something to make up for what just happened,” he says, with a hinting tone. “You know a tit for tat.”

“What?” I cover my boobs. “No.”

“Come on, at least show me those lacy panties everyone saw at the airport.”

“How do you know about my panties?”

“You and your sister don’t know the definition of inside voice,” he says and my cheeks heat up. Well, I gave a show to the entire restaurant. “At least, I think she’s your sister. You two could be twins, you know.”

“We are twins,” I clarify. “And no, I won’t be showing you anything.”

He winks at me. “You liked what you saw, we could have a party with him as long as you’re willing to share.”

Wow! What an absolutely fabulous collection of stories by Ms. Burgoa!

This is the complete series of the Ahern Brothers, Wes and Sterling, and the women they fall for.

The first two stories Begin with Me and Back to You is Wes and Abigail’s story and it is going to put your feelings through the wringer!  I mean you get the full gamut of emotions.  And the love that these two have for each other is spectacular! Their relationship is something of dreams! The swoons are aplenty and the angst and trauma are so vivid and real.  What a sad and destructive childhood Abigail had and the things that Wes does to make Abigail feel safe.

I also enjoyed that even though they loved each other, they knew they both had to work out their issues apart. They both had to learn to love themselves before they could truly love each other.

Then we get the steamy hot holiday story of Sterling and Juniper!  Once Upon a Holiday is like a warm cup of cocoa with a kick of spice! It was lovely to read that Sterling gets his redemption and he learns to love himself and the love he has for Juniper is fabulous! This story was too fast and over too soon! I love the artistic soul of Sterling and the controlled chaos of Juniper.  They are truly an opposites attract kind of couple. I love that no matter how much Juniper plans and coordinates her future, nothing ever goes right until Sterling came into her life!

These Ahren Brothers are some of the swooniest heroes I have read in a long while! I enjoyed every page!

My Review…

Oh my heart! This second book in the Kings of Football series is perfectly perfect!

As a long time fan and an avid reader of all of Ms. Quinn’s books, it was heartbreaking and swoons aplenty and brought some old characters back to the limelight. My most favorite book in Ms. Quinn’s library and I won’t name it but they come back!

This story of Crew and Hazel and their international trip of a lifetime. They were childhood friends that unfortunately drifted apart. But when they both lose someone close they are brought together to travel overseas on a trip that was planned by their dying loved one.

To see Crew and Hazel rekindle their friendship was beautiful. To have them realize they are soulmates was breathtaking. To see the struggle for both Crew and Hazel as they navigate the future made me cry. You are going to feel all the feels with this story and this “family” which is more than just blood, you are related by heart, love and soul.

But to read the ending, by far the most amazing.

“Why is the elevator so slow?” she mutters.

“Tell me three things you’re grateful for,” I say.  

She does a double take. “Is this where I’m like your…pet project? Don’t feel sorry for me.”

Rainbow, sorry is the last thing I feel for you. 

I want you under me. 

Deep and hard.

“How are things with Donovan?” I ask.

Her throat bobs. “I-I can’t talk to you about him. I mean, yeah, um, it…doesn’t feel right, you know, to him.” 

Right. He’s her boyfriend and my frat brother.

The door opens and she slips out, her arm brushing against my chest. I follow, sucking down the electricity between us. 

She blows out a breath. “I know what this is, why you’re being nice to me—”

“Yeah? Tell me, because I can’t figure it out,” I snap, annoyed she won’t open up while the other side is pissed at myself for asking. “Trust me, I wish I didn’t…” I stop, my jaw clenching.

She stops at the door to class and faces me. “Your paper. I’m sorry I can’t help you, I really am. I love helping others, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for us…” She bites her lip, her gaze avoiding mine. “There’s something about you and me—” She halts and looks down at her feet. “Anyway, I know a few students who tutor athletes. Let me give you their names—”

“No one but you, Anastasia.” 

“What? Why?”

Instinct takes over and I back her against the wall, towering over her. I tilt her chin up, and she doesn’t speak or move, just breathing fast, as my hand slides around to her nape. A hum of heat goes through my body as my hands tangle in her hair. 

“River…what…” Pink rises on her cheeks as her lashes flutter.

Every time, I’m pushing a little more, the dark side of me winning. Monday. Her apartment. Now.
