My Review...

What a fantastic, fast paced story by Ms. Blakely.

Who doesn’t love a swoony accent? Who doesn’t love a romantical man? Who doesn’t love a woman who knows her mind and what she wants? If you answered yes to these questions than this is the book for you!

This is the story of January and Liam. Next door neighbors that become so much more! I absolutely loved the dialogue and the dry humor of this story! I was chuckling right along with the characters as I read.

January is a single mom, knows what she wants and doesn’t want to deviate from the plans she has made. She owns her own business and she doesn’t apologize for dominating in a man’s world. When she meets her new neighbor, sparks fly and plans that seem so solid to her become a bit hazy.  But I admired the fact that she sticks to what she wants when it’s important and not bowing down to meet Liam’s needs.

Liam has come home (by way of NYC and Surrey) to take over his father’s practice. He knows what he wants too, a family for himself and his son. 

Liam and January’s chemistry is so believable and charming and I fell hard for the both of them! 

Another fantastic story from the great and talented mind of Lauren Blakely!

My Review...

This is the thrilling and steamy story of Addy and Ace.

I was so intrigued to read more about Addison, what she held back from her siblings and what she went through to become the woman she is today. It was heartbreaking and so easy to see why she suffered hard with survivor’s guilt. She had to become a fierce, strong, and independent woman, even if it seemed to hold her back sometimes.

Ace…whew what alpha hero! He is the founder of Covington Security and he was the one that saved Addison years ago.  He has been longing for her ever since and when her past comes back to threaten her future, his protective instincts go into overdrive.

Addy and Ace’s chemistry was like a match and gasoline, easily igniting and burning up the pages! It was a battle of wills between them and I was cheering hard for them to make it through.

I loved the mystery and the intrigue that was at the forefront of this story, it kept me guessing until the very end! And boy what an ending it was! The danger, the excitement just cemented the fact of what a great story this was!

The Covington Security Series is starting out with a bang and I can’t wait to see what’s to come!

Set in the KB Everyday Hero world this new story from Ms. Mohel is just as fantastic as her standalones!

This is the story of Cardan and Elena, their whirlwind romance with a hint of mystery. This story is going to keep you turning the pages until the very end.

Elena is a spicy Latina with family and friends that make up her whole world. When life throws her a curveball, she decides to live for each day, do something that scares her and make everyday an adventure. I really enjoyed the Latino element in this story, the family strength and her inner strength.

Cardan is a swoony alpha that knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. I absolutely swooned over the interactions he had with Elena. He has come to Sunnyville to start fresh and he fell in love with the town and Elena. Ms. Mohel really out did herself when she created Cardan…whew….

This is a fast paced story but that it doesn’t make it bad, it makes it better!  Ms. Mohel is a fantastic author and I am such a fangirl!

I needed a story like this! I absolutely loved this hilarious and swoony story from Ms. Carter!

This is the story of Joey and Rosalind. 

Rosalind goes by a couple of names in this book and for good reason! I so loved this character! I understood her standoffish nature and I so admired her lack of shame in her profession! It was total woman power player right there! I admired her strength, she was almost too strong for her own good.

Joey, you goofy, swoony fella! You can’t help but fall in love with him. He goes through life with a devil may care attitude until he sees a goal and then he fights tooth and nail to be successful at it.

I really enjoyed the fact that the first time that Joey and Rosalind “meet” it’s not hearts and flowers. In fact it was a little lackluster according to Rosalind and that bit of spin makes this story even better.

I also enjoyed seeing past characters making an appearance and I loved how this story blends so well in the Smartypants Romance world.

Well done on a fantastic read!

I was so excited to see Eros’s story come to life in this newest story by the talented Claudia Burgoa!

 

We finally get to see the elusive Eros and where he really disappearing to in the previous books in this series. Now don’t get discouraged by that last sentence! This story, along with all the others can be read as a standalone. So if this is your first foray into the Brassard world, welcome and get ready to fall in love with the characters.

 

Olivia is the reason for Eros’s disappearances! A chance meeting and then serendipity and fate take the wheel in their relationship.

 

Olivia’s upbringing is a bit chaotic, but full of love.  But it still leaves some lingering issues in the heart for her. She is young when her and Eros meet for the first time, but she truly is an old soul.

 

The pace and flow of this story was phenomenal! Even as the years pass in this story, I was still invested in what was going on. It was lovely to “see” past characters make an appearance, they didn’t distract from the main story, but they sure did bring more to it!

 

I am always amazed by the stories that Ms. Burgoa gives to the readers, and this story is no exception!

“Here.” Cletus suddenly appeared, looking devilishly handsome in the dim light and seemingly all put back together—like we’d been in here holding hands instead of. . . ANYWAY.

He held out my underwear. His eyes were bright even in shadow, and I could see they were half-lidded as they lazily trailed over me. He looked at me like he was hungry, and I was dinner. Despite all the encore orgasms I’d just had, the effect hit me right between my legs. 

I wondered what he was thinking, watching as he licked his bottom lip and drew it into his mouth. Was he just as insatiable for me? And if so, was he okay with that?

Tearing my eyes away, I pulled on the lace and fixed my skirt, telling my body to settle down. We were getting married for hootenanny’s sake!

Instead, his hands cupped my face and tilted my chin back. He stared at me with a vibrant intensity I felt all the way to my fingertips. “No, Jenn. Not the dress. You.” Cletus gave me a soft kiss, ending it by gently nipping my bottom lip. “You are my miracle.”

I sighed. And I smiled. And I felt like I was walking on a cloud instead of in four-inch heels, which was also probably something of a miracle. “You say the sweetest things.”

“I think you mean, I say the truest things.”

 I laughed, and he kissed my forehead. He held me there, in the dark with his lips pressed to my forehead. “I love you so completely, with every cell in my body. I wonder sometimes if I’d cease to exist—just evaporate or disappear—if anything ever happened to you.”

“No.” I anchored my hands to his wrists and squeezed. “Don’t think like that. We’ve got our whole lives in front of us. There’s nothing anyone can—”

Three bangs in quick succession pierced the quiet moment, and not a second later Cletus had me on the ground beneath him, covering my back with his body.

I so love this spin off series about Cletus and Jenn. This is a couple that is so underestimated by most folks has a love that outshines everything!

This story picks up with Cletus and Jenn finally celebrating their engagement. And what a party it is. Mayhem ensues and a new mystery needs to be solved.

Cletus has got to be one of the most fascinating characters I have ever read. His quirkiness, and his love for Jenn is just inspiring and the talent of Ms. Reid to be able to create such a unique hero is just a testament to her writing talent.

I love how past characters make appearances, but they don’t overshine the main plot of the story, they just add to it. 

This story is full of mystery, love, charm and swoons. Oh and as the title says, marriage! But I am not going to spoil it for you.

Another stellar story from the great mind of Penny Reid, get your hands on it!

EXCERPT:

“Are you ready?” Farrah says, coming from behind me and massaging my shoulders. I move my head side to side while we both hop up and down. “Did you do those finger exercises I told you about?”

I flex my fingers and nod. “Yup, all warmed up.”

“Do you have your game face on?” Farrah spins me around and grips my shoulders as I mean mug it at her. “Ooo, you’ve been practicing in the mirror. I can tell.”

“When I brush my teeth. I really feel like I’ve mastered the scowl.”

“Honey, you mastered the scowl years ago. Now you’re just coming into your own with it.” She holds up her hands, and I start boxing into them as we leap around the apartment. “Quick on your feet, quick on your feet.” Farrah swings her hand at me, and I duck. “Focus, hone your attention.”

“Focused.”

“Tell me, who’s going to kill it today?”

“I am.” I bob back and forth and then give Farrah a one-two punch to her hands.

“Who’s going to do anything necessary, even sit on someone’s face if you need to, in order to win today’s challenge?”

“I am. Show no mercy. My ass is coming for your face.”

Farrah pauses, winces. “I’m not sure I like that.”

“Just go with it.”

“Okay, Luna’s ass is coming for your face.” She shrugs. “Next week let’s work on your trash talk.”

“Might be necessary.”

Circling again, I box at Farrah’s hands, feeling light on my feet and ready for anything that comes my way. “You’re going to ignore all conversations from Mr. Snobby Shoes.”

“I don’t even know he exists.”

“Your eyes are on the prize. And what is that prize?”

“Giving Cohen and Declan the best wedding possible.”

“Exactly.” She lowers her palms. “Quick, flash me your hands.”

I lift my hands, and she inspects them carefully.

“You lotioned—good. Nails are clipped to a perfect length, and those fingers are stretched and strong. Rotate your wrists for me.” She lowers her ear to my wrists as I circle them around. “Perfect, no cracking, no tension.” She points to the ground. “Fast feet.”

My feet start bouncing up and down, like in those football movies, and I hold my hands at my hips, ready for the call . . .

“Draw!” Farrah shouts.

I pull my glue gun from my hip and point it at her. “You’ve been glued.”

Farrah claps her hands. “Reaction time was spot on. You’re ready.”

“Yeah?”

She nods. “You got this, girl. This competition is yours for the taking. And remember what we talked about: don’t focus on what you think will win . . .”

“Focus on what will bring Cohen and Declan joy.”

You are in for a treat with this funny, sweet and swoony story from Meghan Quinn.

This story is going to pull you in like a macrame rope and make your heart explode with goodness like a well planned glitter bomb!

This is the story of Alec and Luna. This is the story of rivalries and stiff competition. This is also a story of family dynamics and mending fences. 

Luna is a crafting queen, she is the epitome of a #Procraftinator and she decided to enter her brother and his fiance into the newest DIY show The Wedding Game. She is in it to win it for him.  I loved Luna and Cohen’s relationship! A true brother/sister bond and Luna will fight tooth and glue gun to get her brother the wedding of their dreams. (Or is it her dreams?)

Alec has closed himself off from his dysfunctional parents and has slowly drifted away from his brother.  I absolutely loved Thad’s dramatics and how he pulls Alec in to participate with him on the show.

The chemistry between Alec and Luna was wicked hot and it was so swoony to read their interactions and how they tried to separate their budding relationship from the show was so finely written it seemed so real. I admired how Ms. Quinn was able to tap into Alec’s feelings and make him even more of a hero.
