This was a page turner! The chemistry between these two was hotter than a Carolina Reaper! (The hottest pepper out there, so they say!)
I swooned over Cutter, the ultimate southern gentleman! But you still had the just right amount of alpha too! He was trying so hard to do the right thing, but love doesn’t wait for the right time or the right circumstances. Love just is….
Shealyn! This girl, I wanted to smack her around for keeping so much from Cutter! But then reading her history, I could understand it better. Still wanted to shake her a bit, but that’s what makes the story sooo good!
I absolutely loved the secondary characters! Since this is my first book, I am hoping that these characters have their own stories so I can dive into them as deeply as I did this story!
There is danger, there is mystery, there is sexiness, there is a bit of everything that makes a story great!
I cannot wait to read more from this author! Well done Shayla!

“I’ve read about boys like you in books, ya know,” she whispered, her fingers slowly spinning spirals on my chest.
“Oh, yeah? What did those books teach you about boys like me?”
“Well…” She bit her bottom lip, and with a small inhalation, she whispered, “They taught me to stay away.”
“Then why are you so close?”
She tilted her head up, looking me straight in the eyes. “Because in those stories, the heroine never ever listens.”
“And then there’s trouble?” I asked.
“Yes, and then there’s trouble.”
From the way she said those words, I knew trouble was exactly what she was in search of. We were the classic cliché. She was the good girl next door, I the monster from around the block. “That’s easy enough,” she replied, her breaths uneven as I teased at the top button on her jeans. “I don’t believe in feelings anymore.”
I didn’t know why, but that made me sad for her. I, too, didn’t believe in falling for people, but that was my norm. Grace seemed the type to believe in something bigger than love, so the fact that her belief was completely gone was a bit surprising.
Maybe we had more in common than I thought.
“Rule number three…we don’t talk about my life.”
“Like ever?”
“Never.”
“Okay.”
“And lastly, rule number four…” My mouth brushed against hers, and I slid my tongue slowly across her bottom lip. “If your favorite pair of panties get ripped, don’t expect me to replace them.”

I’m nervous but excited. My gut says to run away, but the glass of wine I just finished off is telling me this is an excellent idea. Feeling brave, I hold the phone out at arm’s reach and take a selfie of me sitting on top of my unmade bed.
Times like these make me glad I’m not great about washing the small amount of makeup I wear off before bed. Typically, I just use a baby wipe right before I fall asleep to wipe off whatever bit of mascara survived the day.
Today’s makeup, though light, is still present. I’m spread across the bed in my tiny black shorts and my favorite red tank top with a shelf bra built in. Before logic can make its way into my brain I hit send.
I review the picture and instantly regret fills my stomach. I felt so brave thirty seconds ago. But staring at it now, I see the small rolls of my stomach, and my chest needs more support than the tank itself can provide. Those are not perky twenty-year-old breasts. Those are the breasts of a woman who’s edging toward thirty and has had a baby. I’m ashamed of the dark circles under my eyes.
Why did I send that pic?
Asher: Fuck
My heart sinks. He probably sees all my flaws, too. In a dimly lit house they might not have been noticeable in passing. But on a phone screen, where you can zoom in they’re just there for the seeing.
Asher: Wow. That’s an incredible sight.
I’m unable to conjure a complete thought, nothing sexy, witty, or interesting. I’m frozen, knowing he’s staring at a photo of me, in awe.

I’m not in any way prepared for what he sends. I’ve seen him shirtless. Hell, I can’t believe I’ve seen him nearly naked in person, felt him in the palm of my hand. And still, I’m in shock at the sight of him stretched out on his bed in just a pair of thin gray sweats, his hand on top wrapped around the outline of his long, thick cock.
I stare for too long at that hand holding that cock firmly. I almost don’t even notice the smirk on his face. He knows how attracted I am to him. Just being around him makes me weak, and by the look on his face I’m guessing he knows how turned on this sight is making me.

Is any decision the right one? This is the question that kept running through my head as I was reading this.
The Downside of Love is the epic conclusion to the Blue Line duet.
I am still processing my feelings. I ran the gamut when reading. I was sad, I was angry, I was happy.
This story hit so many personal things with me, which in turn made me love and hate this all the more….
The locations: I lived in Colorado Springs for 12 years and I could picture the places and been to quite a few of them. I was in the military, I married a military man. I could empathize with Rory. I could empathize with all of them, but I chose differently.
The dynamic between the characters: I too had to make decisions and choices that seemed right at the time. But at what cost? Luckily I did choose correctly and I have been thanking my lucky stars ever since.
The true testament to this story is that I was so determined about what I wanted the outcome to be. I was so filled with angst and shaking my head and crying when I was reading. But being the brilliant writer that Meghan is, she changed my way of thinking, to see the otherside. Meghan flipped the script! I may not agree on the outcome, but I can understand it better and I could appreciate it more. And that in itself makes me love Meghan’s words even more than I thought was possible!
I am hoping, and praying that Meghan makes sure that all the characters get their happily ever afters! They so deserve it!
This duet proves that Meghan can write more than just funny, sweet romances. She can also deliver one helluva angst, tear filled, love story for the ages!
This is a MUST READ duet! This duet is amazing! This is definitely in the running for my best of 2018 reads! Get your hands on this!

This is the second book I have read by Siobhan and I really enjoyed this book too!
Incognito is a college age romance. While this isn’t my most favorite genre, I really liked this story.
I liked that the characters, even though they were young, had life experiences that made them mature.
This story of Dakota and Shawn/Levi is fast paced. It has the perfect amount of steaminess, angst and romance. I love the bit of mystery and suspense! It kept me guessing till the end and I still got it wrong! Make sure you really read the words and go slowly….you will see hints and bits revealed that will give you clues!
Dakota’s back story is epically tragic. Siobhan gives you her backstory slowly. But when it’s finally revealed it will gut you! Dakota is truly strong and brave!
Levi/Shawn starts as the typical bad boy, arrogant rock star. But boy does he really perform a 180 once he meets and interacts with Dakota! I had a bit of dislike for him when I started reading, but I fell in love with him just like Dakota did at the end!
I really enjoyed seeing past characters being part of this story too, but don’t let that discourage you! Even if you haven’t read Siobhan’s stories, this is a total stand alone!
Another well done story by Siobhan! I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!!
