Now I’m back in Chicago for the first time in years, and Sawyer is determined to rekindle our friendship. I swore, I wouldn’t put my life (and heart) on hold for him again, but just one look at his handsome face and I know, he’s still the only man for me.

But this time, things are going to be different. No more sitting around, waiting for him to realize his dream woman is right in front of him. No, I’m going to make him see, I’m not just one of the guys anymore.

My Review…

Rascals Book 5

I am so enjoying this series! Each book can be read as a stand-alone.

Soulmate is the story of Gabrielle and Sawyer. Best friends, and for Gabrielle, unrequited love. So when the opportunity arose for her to escape watching Sawyer go from girl to girl. She jumped on the opportunity.

Flash forward five years and Gabi is back in Chicago. Fate intervenes. Sawyer has missed her and wants what they had back in college. He wants his best friend back. Gabi wants more!

Gabi is a fantastic character! She isn’t afraid to use everything in her personal arsenal to show Sawyer what a more than friendship they can be. She is brave in open and honesty with Sawyer.

Sawyer as a twisted sense of what love is. He sees it as a thing that destroys and hurts. And even though the sexual chemistry between Gabi and Sawyer is off the charts hot. He continues to believe that his relationship with Gabi is a true friends with benefits relationship. And he thinks he is happy with that.

It was great reading familiar secondary characters from the previous books in the series. But they don’t overwhelm and take away from the main story, they only add more!

I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!!

I getting prepped…doing things I have never done before.

This is the first year that I have signed up to Foster An Author.  I am excited and honored to help new to me independent authors!

“Avery Flynn knocks it out of the park again!”

– Tawna Fenske, USA Today bestselling author

Muffin Top, a hot romantic comedy from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn is coming October 29th!

Muffin Top 1600px.jpg

The only thing about me that’s a size zero is the filter on my mouth. I’ve got a big personality, a big rack, and a big number on the scale. And I’m perfectly fine with that.

But when some random guy suggests I might not be eating alone if I’d ordered a salad instead of a hamburger I’m shocked silent, which is a feat, trust me.

That brings us to one sexy fireman named Frankie Hartigan. He’s hot. He’s funny… And he’s just apologized for being late for our “date” then glared at the fat-shaming jerk. Next thing I know, he’s sitting down and ordering himself dinner.

I have no problem telling him I don’t need a pity date . . . unless of course it’s to my high school reunion next week. Oops where did that last bit come from? And what do I do now that he’s said yes?!

Because this is no make-over story, and I think Frankie is using me for something. I just have to figure out what…

Excerpt:

The temptation to say “Yes, Frankie, please squash him like a bug while I clap and watch” was so, so strong—like, the guys who pull semi trucks with their teeth strong. Instead, Lucy played along with her best friend’s fiancé’s brother— OMG, that was now the name of her imaginary all-girl ska band—and smiled sweetly up at him.

“He was bothered by my dinner order, honey.”

“Really?” Frankie looked down at her plate, over to the dipshit, and then right at her. There was no missing the devil in his eyes right before he turned his attention back to the other man. “What’s wrong with what my girl’s eating?”

Mr. In Her Business blanched. Literally. The color drained out of his face so fast that he resembled one of those swipe right before and after photos on makeover blogs. How in the hell she managed to not laugh out loud she had no frickin’ clue.

“N-n-nothing,” the man stuttered.

Nope. He was not getting off that easily.

She looked up at Frankie, still standing next to her chair, his big hand braced on the back of it, and said in the clueless voice that anyone with a brain would know meant there was danger ahead, “He said I should have ordered a salad, then I might have a chance to move from a five to an eight. I’m a five because I have great tits.”

Thunderous didn’t begin to describe the dark look of pure vengeance that crossed Frankie’s face, making even the freckles that crossed over the bridge of his nose look scary. Mr. Buttinsky made a little squeaking noise that reminded Lucy of the sound of air coming out of a balloon when someone pulled the tip taut as it was deflating. Frankie took a step forward, menace vibrating off of him in waves. The other guy didn’t bother to say a word, he just took off, weaving his way at a fast clip through the crowded bar and out the front door. Lucy liked to imagine that he peed his pants a little as he did so.

“Thanks, Frankie,” she said to the man still staring at the departing figure of Mr. Peed His Pants. “I owe you one.”

Her ginger knight in well-fitting jeans and a T-shirt made some kind of noise that maybe was a response in the affirmative. It sounded kinda like “no problem.” Whatever. She was used to that from guys. She was only of interest until a hotter, skinnier, or prettier woman came along. It was the universal fat chick cloaking device.

Determined not to let it annoy her as much as it usually would, she turned back to her jalapeño cheeseburger, spicy fries, and soda. Now she could finally enjoy her dinner in peace.

Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Frankie clunked down a three-fourths filled mug of beer on the other side of her table, pulled out the chair across from her, and sat down. Before she could even ask what he was doing, he waved the waitress over and told her he wanted whatever Lucy was eating, plus an extra order of fries and another beer. Once she’d left, he turned his attention to Lucy and gave her what could only be described as a vibrator smile. She named it that in her head—thankfully only in her head—because she now had a desperate need for her vibrator and maybe a fresh pack of batteries.

“You’re not gonna make me eat alone now that we’re on a date, are you?” he asked, swiping one of her fries.

About Avery

USA Today bestselling romance author Avery Flynn has three slightly-wild children, loves a hockey-addicted husband and is desperately hoping someone invents the coffee IV drip.

She fell in love with romance while reading Johanna Lindsey’s Mallory books. It wasn’t long before Avery had read through all the romance offerings at her local library. Needing a romance fix, she turned to Harlequin’s four books a month home delivery service to ease the withdrawal symptoms. That worked for a short time, but it wasn’t long before the local book stores’ staffs knew her by name.

Avery was a reader before she was a writer and hopes to always be both. She loves to write about smartass alpha heroes who are as good with a quip as they are with their *ahem* other God-given talents. Her heroines are feisty, fierce and fantastic. Brainy and brave, these ladies know how to stand on their own two feet and knock the bad guys off theirs.

I should have known it was only a game.

I should have known he was too good to be true.

He’s nothing but a player…

Player, an all-new sexy, standalone romantic comedy from Staci Hart, is LIVE!

player-wrap.jpg

He’s a player.

He plays the bass with expert fingers. He plays women with intoxicating charm. And he’ll play me with the ease of a virtuoso.

Who better to teach me to play than the master himself?

I’m his model student, front row, pencil sharp. Pick up lines? I’ve got them. Free drinks? By the dozen. Kissing? Let me grab my chapstick.

But the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that there’s so much I don’t know. Like why his touch sets off a chain reaction straight to my nethers. Or how I’m certain each kiss is the best I’ll ever have, until the moment his lips take mine again.

There’s so much I don’t know.

Like the fact that I’m only a bet.

But we are what we are. He’s a player, through and through.

And I’m the fool who fell in love with him.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

My Review…

Oh my me….this story!! The Red Lipstick Collation (RLC) is at it again!

Player is the story of Val and Sam…and what a beautiful story it was!

I loved the way she made the art of dance a metaphor for the beginning of their relationship.  I loved the way she made the music the song of love.

The imagery of this story is phenomenal! There was many times after reading a paragraph, I would have to stop and close my eyes and I could “see” the scene.  Whether it was the orchestra pit or Sway, it was hypnotic.

I so empathize with Val, I could so see myself in so many of her mannerisms and that just brought me more into the story.  She is fierce because she has to be, there wasn’t a choice.  Her family was amazing! Funny, strong and loyal to each other.  The multi-generations coming together made Val stronger.

Sam, oh Sam….he was amazing! He is beautiful, inside and out.  How he treated Val, even in the beginning, when he didn’t have to, he treated her like a princess.  He loved her hard, hard enough for Val to learn to love herself again!

And the gals of the RLC, Katherine, Rin and Amelia. Who doesn’t love a group of girls that prop you up, wipe your tears and draw diagrams for sexual positions?!?  We all need our own RLC…I know I do! In fact I bought my own tube of red lipstick…waiting for that moment to wear it!!

I cannot wait to read Amelia’s story next!!

BLURB

Everyone wants to get close to a rock star.

The bright lights.

The music.

Those talented fingers strumming… a guitar.

Everyone wants to bang a rock star.

So why do I keep running from the one who wants me?

I’m America’s Sweetheart.

I have a reputation.

He’s a boy-band icon turned rock god.

I’m vanilla.

He’s every flavor of bad.

And he’s much, much too young for me.

If I end up in Nick Ryder’s bed, my career and I will both be screwed.

…but that’s only if I’m caught.

EXCERPT

“Hi,” he says, doing a double-take when he realizes it’s me. He looks fabulous, of course, because why wouldn’t he when I look so scrubby? He’s wearing jeans and a T-shirt and a hoodie, and his face doesn’t look like he’s tired, or like he stayed up late to drink too much and tear up the dance floor.

Or like he spent last night making out with somebody more than a decade older than him.

“It’s crazy seeing you here,” I say. I giggle again at the sheer ridiculousness of this. “Do you come here often?” What am I doing? What am I saying? It’s like I just learned how to talk to people of the opposite sex. How have I ever gotten a date?

Not that I’m trying to date Nick.

“Occasionally. You?” He sticks his hands in his pockets and he’s so relaxed, so sexy, and I just can’t stand all that swagger on such a handsome guy that I am not allowed to touch. It’s unfair for anyone to look so effortlessly edible before nine a.m.

“It’s my favorite shop. Come here all the time.” I take a couple steps backwards, trying to shift toward my car. “I probably should—”

“Don’t you think it’s probably more than a coincidence?” He takes a step towards me, and I take one back, willing myself not to respond to the rumble of his deep voice and the magnetism of his body. “That we’d see each other again so soon. Kind of like fate, almost.”

Oh my god, Oh my god, he’s flirting with me. What do I do? He’s so hot, I can’t even look at him. But then I do, and I have total church-giggles over this, and I have to escape before I make an even bigger fool out of myself. Someone is bound to notice that I am losing my cool, and they’ll draw conclusions that aren’t even true.

It was just kissing!

“It’s really weird, I have to admit.” I dance back some more, then glance behind me to make sure I’m not going to back into the street and get run over and make this even worse. “And really awkward.” I brush some hair back that’s come loose from the messy bun at the base of my neck.

He shrugs, seeming to disagree. And it’s true that I’m the only one who seems to be awkward right now. “I don’t know about that. Doesn’t have to be awkward. Could just be convenient. Since I never got your phone number.”

If I didn’t think he was flirting before, I know he definitely is now. I don’t want to say no to him, but I have to say no to him. He cannot have my number. Can’t have anything more than a memory of a scorching-hot make-out in the back of a club. What we did was not for a sunlit day. It was for a dark corner. And yet, I still can’t seem to actually say the word no. So instead I say, “Why do you need my phone number?”

Oh my god, this is mortifying. It really is like I’m in high school again and I’ve forgotten not only how to talk to boys but how to stand in their presence.

He takes another step toward me, laughing. “Well, for one thing, I thought it might be nice if we had dinner sometime.”

He has the most ridiculous smile, I realize. It lights up his entire face. You can see it in his eyes, and there’s no pretension. It’s all genuine. Pure sunshine. I’m rendered speechless by it for half a second and I have to ask, “What was that?”

“Dinner,” he says, that huge-ass grin in full force, taking another step toward me, and now there’s only three feet between us, and I can feel the body heat from him, can remember what it felt like the last time he walked me backwards into a wall and then his body was pressing into me, and his mouth was on me. When his chest was against me, when his cock was pressing into me and my hips—

I suddenly jump backwards. “I don’t think that would be a good idea.” I look around suddenly to see if anyone’s noticed this exchange yet.

It’s fine, it’s still fine.

We’re just two people who work in the same industry who bumped into each other on a Saturday morning and are chatting like people do on Saturday mornings when they bump into each other. While giggling. Totally fine.

“What are you worried about, Natalia?” He doesn’t chase after me, just stands there looking confident and laid-back. Like a man trying to tempt a scared animal out from hiding. “I mean—I do bite, but most women like it.”

I smile at that, because I can’t help it, but I duck so he doesn’t see.

He’s probably so much more experienced than me.

He’s probably so dirty in the bedroom.

God, I shouldn’t be thinking about that. “I shouldn’t even be talking to you,” I say, shaking my head. I turn toward my car.

“No, you shouldn’t be,” he calls from behind me, and I have to actually close my eyes to collect myself because it’s obvious he’s thinking about doing not-talking things. Things like last night. Things like biting.

Things good girls have no business being so turned on by.

I tell myself he probably says stuff like that to all the girls who walk away from him.

But who am I kidding? Who has ever walked away from Nick Ryder? Besides me, I mean. Twice now. I deserve an Oscar for my willpower. That should be a new category.

“Bye, Nick,” I call as I flee with my coffee.

Then I step into my car, put my keys in the ignition and drive away before I lose my senses and change my mind.

About Laurelin

With over 1 million books sold, Laurelin Paige is the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She’s a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She’s also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn’t do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio.

My Review…

Ryder Brothers Book One

So I was so excited to have the opportunity to read the start of this new series!

Close is the story of the youngest brother Nick and Natalia.

The first thing I loved about this story is the fact that the heroine is 13 years older than the hero!! You don’t see that very often and I am so glad to see this!

Natalia is a superstar.  She is Hollywood royalty.  She is so much more.  She has tried hard to overcome a rough beginning to her career. She is also in a point in her life that she wants to start a new chapter.  She is being raked over the media coals over a “breakup”. She wants to let go of her good girl image for a night, she wants to be free.  She is naive in some ways and her inexperience shows.

Nick is a young man who has lived a thousand lifetimes.  He is the true definition of an old soul.  He’s not sure what he wants until he meets Natalia.  Then he too, wants to start a new chapter in his life.

The chemistry between these two is epic! The steaminess and sexiness of the moments between them are hella hot.  The romance is excellent, it feels real!

I enjoyed the imagery and the way that Ms. Paige is able to spin a web around the reader and bring you into the world of Hollywood and fame.

I can’t wait to read Jake and Jonas’ stories!

Dear Mister…**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we’re being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt.

With my boss.

I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . .

He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments.

Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona.

HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you.

My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

My Review…

Wow! First question I asked myself…Why I haven’t I read Sara Ney before? (Trust me, that will be remedied post haste) and the second…Why haven’t these two magical story tellers never written together before?

Love Sincerely Yours is the fabulous story of Peyton and Rome.

Peyton is feisty, she is fierce a she has been secretly carrying a huge torch for her boss.  With the help of some friends and a slew of drinks on her birthday.  A fateful e-mail was sent.  I would love to have a friend like Peyton! She knows what she wants and after a bit of stumble, she goes for it! Bravo!

Oh Rome, you uptight, regimental alpha-hole! I admire his tenacity.  I laugh at his inner dialogue and his friendship with Hunter?  Priceless.  I love how he fought his feelings for his “employee” and his “grand gesture”? Epic! I will never look at quiche the same way again!!

The chapters flowed seamlessly, I honestly couldn’t tell if each author took a character or a chapter or how they did it, but you can’t tell there are two geniuses at work here!

The secondary characters are phenomenal and bring such humor and levity to the story!

Get your hands on this funny, steamy and swoony story! You will thank me!!

Hello all,

Yes I made it home safely!! I hope you all had a chance to keep up with my IG, Facebook and Twitter posts over the weekend. I was posting photos like crazy!! But I just want you all to know, the drinks were good, they sure were pretty and I couldn’t help myself with posting photos of them all!!

I am going to add a few of my absolute favorite photos of my weekend here….

IMG_1425

What I first got in line, image my surprise when I see the fabulous B. Cranford attending as a reader! (It’s like the US magazine segment…Stars, They’re Just Like Us! moment) I about tripped over my own feet to say hi and introduce myself! I may have scared her when the weekend went on with my forcefulness in asking questions…I am such a dork and was just so excited I couldn’t help myself! She was gracious and I floved her accent!!

IMG_1432

My main reason for traveling to this author event was to meet this fabulous woman! Kate Canterbary….by the time it was my turn to say hello and try not to pass out from my excitement, I was sweating like a pig in fleece and I had to warn her before I hugged her! She was an absolute doll and before the weekend was over I got to talk to her a few more times and get a little story about a couple we saw at the get together that us “Canterbarians” had with her.  The way she comes up with scenarios on the fly is what makes her such an amazing story teller!

IMG_1440

A new to me author Jeannine Colette! She was beautiful and so gracious! I will be reading more from her!

IMG_1446

Gahhhh! Meghan Quinn!! She was another one of my had to meet on my list! In my excitement to come to this event, I completely spaced my pre-order from her! She told me to come by her table later and if she had any extras she would gladly help me out! Boob squeezes were implied and hugs were aplenty! She was amazing!

Holy Hell it’s Julia Kent!! Need I say more?!? Another had to see author! I fell in love with her Shopping Series and been shamelessly stalking ever since! She graciously gave me a signed copy of one of her books for a giveaway I am going to have coming up soon! An absolutely lovely human being and so honored to have met her!

A funny story on how I met this new to me author  Sara Ney

There I am at the Providence airport, waiting with a fellow reader, Karen, for a ride to our hotel.  Another reader Amy, who is from Providence graciously volunteered to pick us up and bring us!  So we are waiting for our baggage when who do we see? Sara! And she too needs a ride!

I got to spend the drive to the airport in the back seat with Sara and Amy’s 8 year old daughter (who was an absolute doll).  Sara was hilariously funny when talking to the 8 year old! I laughed so hard and told myself I need to know more from her!

I will be stalking her shortly!!

An fabulous end to a fabulous event! A group of Pervy Girls (fans of Kate Canterbary) met for drinks at Rooftop at the G. Kate joined our rowdy crew and it was just the cherry on top of a weekend I will never forget!

Book friends are truly the best friends! I made amazing new friends, got to “meet” friends that I have talked to on FB and met some phenomenal authors….memories have been made!!

About SUIT

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her bestselling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy standalone. SUIT is Ken’s book—the hilarious, heartwarming tale of how BB finally got over her bad boy phase and found happily ever after with…gasp…a guy in a tie.

“Since when are you into guys in ties? You only like guys who look like they rob guys in ties. At gunpoint.”

It was true. By 2003, my type had been well-established. There might as well have been a giant sign on my heart that said, “Good Guys Need Not Apply.”

Which is exactly why I had to friendzone Ken Easton. The man was a former football star, smelled like fresh laundry instead of stale cigarettes, and had more ties in his closet than tattoos on his knuckles. Pssh. BOR-ING.

But the more I got to know my hunky study buddy, the more questions I came away with. Questions like, why doesn’t he date? Why does he avoid human touch? Why does he hate all things fun and wonderful? The psychology student in me became obsessed with getting inside Ken’s head, while the spoiled brat in me became obsessed with getting inside his heart.

In 2003, I found the one thing I love more than bad boys…

A good challenge.

*SUIT is Book 4 in the 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN spin-off series, but it can be read as a complete standalone.

We were lovers at twenty-eight.

Tina Saxon lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and two kids. She’s not afraid to try new things because it’s outside the box of typical housewife. CEO of her home is by far the most rewarding job she has ever had. Her jobs include, but are not limited to, seamstress, carpenter, craft extraordinaire, PTA President, chauffeur, dance mom, mediator—of mentioned kids—and author. Once upon a time she was a Financial Analyst but traded budgets and forecasts in for diapers and bottles. The former was definitely easier but the latter more fulfilling. Tina’s love for reading surged into her passion for writing. Wanting to bring the reader an intriguing story that’s hard to put down with steamy love scenes that heat you up, she’s always thinking of the perfect way to take you down that path.
