How do you survive the death of a child?
Nine months ago, Tess’s five-year-old daughter was killed in a car accident. The driver, Brady Becker, was sentenced to two years in prison. It didn’t make Tess’s pain go away.
Brady also has a daughter: A twelve-year-old named Eve who walks to Chandler Middle School every day. Tess knows this because she’s been watching Eve for the last three weeks. It isn’t fair that Brady’s daughter gets to live, while Tess’s daughter does not.
When Eve goes missing, all eyes turn to Tess, who doesn’t have an alibi. But Tess isn’t guilty.
Or so she believes.

I was introduced to this author by chance. He was signing at an event I was attending, and I breezed right past his table. Boy was that a mistake.
I was given the chance to read this book, and holy thriller Mr. Therme! This is a gripping page-turner that was hard to put down.
This story is more than just the tale of a grieving mother dealing with her grief. This is a story of family, relationships and the trauma that comes from losing a child.
I was fully invested in this story and the main character. The way that Tessie tries to reason with her obsessions and her inner battles with herself are moving, and I could so empathize with her plight. I was also cringing at the lengths she was going through to deal with her inner turmoil.
The twists and turns in this story is going to keep you riveted to the pages! The multiple mini-cliffhangers in each chapter were amazing and kept me invested.
I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this new to me author; you can bet I will be putting his other stories on my TBR!
If you are looking for an epic thriller, twisty mystery with complex characters, look no further!
