An all-expense paid trip to Europe. What could be more enticing than that?

Ah, Ms. Stewart, you have once again written a story for the ages.

Just when I think there is no way to exceed my ridiculous expectations of your talent, you slay me with this. Heart, laughs, swoons, and smexiness in spades are what you get with this.

The characters Jane and Lucian are relatable, worthy and I fell in love hard for both of them.

Jane is without a doubt, one of the most amazing characters I have ever read. She is sassy, confident, and with vulnerabilities that resonate with me. She is what I aspire to be. She has overcome her past with a bang and I want to be her BFF.

Lucian has some hidden facets that come to light with Jane that are just wowza. His Britishness and stiff upper lip are just the icing on the deliciousness of him.

Their relationship is one for the record books and I was down for the ride. I wanted to fit myself into one of their suitcases and just observe the whirlwind of them both.

Way to blow my mind and heart with this new story Ms. Stewart, I tip my blogger hat to you for this masterpiece!

On the wall behind her, taking up the entire space, was an enormous contemporary oil painting. Bold loops of black paint seemed to dance across a white ground, dominating the room. It was so dramatic, so unexpected and somehow energetic, a rush of excitement flooded her.

 

 

“It makes me want to twirl!”

 

“Exactly!” He reached for her free hand, lifting it and turning her so suddenly and smoothly, the graceful spin finishing with their mouths inches apart. He looked as surprised as she felt, but the most surprising thing wasn’t the spontaneous twirl, or even the fact that he’d done it.

Oh how I flove a new story from the talented and quirky mind of Julia Kent.

I am so loving this new series, I love being introduced to new characters and seeing beloved past characters making cameos.

This is the story of Katie and Patrick. As a vintage gal myself, I love the premise that no matter what your age, you can still have smexy times, you can still feel the promise of a new love and you can still live.

Kate and Patrick’s meet-cute is one for the record books! I absolutely loved it and laughed quite hard.

Kate is a girl boss, even when her personal life is bit of a sh*t-storm. She has a type and she wants to try to break it, but when the silver fox that is Patrick comes into her world. Well, hold tight.

Patrick is all the good things you want in a hero, he is swoony and I love his naiveté when it comes to the world and his daughter.

As with all of Ms. Kent’s stories, you get heart, heat, and hilarity in a beautiful backdrop of the art world.

My Review...

I am really enjoying getting to know the Ashton family and the town of Hope Crest.

This is the story of Liam, the broody oldest sibling of the Ashton family, and Gabrielle, the forbidden temptation of Liam.

I loved Liam’s broodiness and his need for solitude. Still waters run deep in this Ashton. I also loved how he was around Gabrielle, the softness that Liam has hidden deep comes to the surface.

Oh, Gabrielle, I empathized with her past. I was cheering her on to overcome her upbringing and believe in herself and in Liam.

The bit of thrills and chills always brings me even closer to the characters and has me invested in their happily ever after.

It was lovely to “see” past characters make their appearances known and to be able to catch up with how their futures were bright.

I also loved the hints and crumbs that were scattered throughout for future stories. 

I can’t wait to come back to Hope Crest in future stories to see what happens next with the Ashton family.

This is the story of Knox and Halle. A love that survived time, distance and comes full circle.

Knox knows his mistakes and is trying like hell to make up for them when it comes to his relationship with Halle.

Halle is trying to embrace her new world and overcome the saying “Time heals old wounds”.

Ms. Dunbar has the amazing talent of writing vintage characters that come to life on the page and makes the reader want to become part of their world.

This is Shane and Amelia’s story. It’s a friends-to-lovers story at its finest.

My favorite type of hero is Shane. He is quiet and when he does speak it’s worth hearing. When he speaks to Amelia it’s like a one-way ticket to swoon city! 

Amelia is a woman I could totally empathize with. She is finding her groove as a single mom who has learned from her past and does not want to repeat the mistakes she made.

The relationship between Shane and Amelia could be considered an insta love, but it’s been built over a lifetime of friendship.

This is the story of Dorian and Briar.

This is a story of family lies and secrets. This is the story of how fate can sometimes be cruel.

Briar and Dorian’s relationship is unique and I admired that uniqueness didn’t change or they didn’t bend to the traditional ways.

Dorian’s family is quite the definition of dysfunctional and Briar’s past has left some scars that have really changed who she is as an adult.

The locations are described beautifully, I could picture myself in the same locations. (And some I truly wished I was)

If you are looking for a dishy, perfect romance, with family drama and secrets aplenty, get your hands on this!

I rush forward and grab mine, muttering a hasty, “Thanks!” Then beeline for the exit. Of course, that’s the moment a hoard of teens barrel through the door, forcing me to hold it open until the entire gaggle has stormed the café.
Once outside, I hustle to the crosswalk. I punch the button and glare as the sign counts down from thirty.
And then I hear my name being called.
I glance toward the café and, much to my horror, the attractive man whose butt I was admiring is rushing toward me, coffee in hand.
“Hey! You’re Skye, right?” he asks.
“Yes. That’s me.” Maybe he didn’t mind my checking out his butt.
“You took the wrong coffee.” He taps the side of the cup with the name SKYE written in Larissa’s lovely cursive.
“Oh.” I turn mine around and see Sidney scrawled on the side. And it’s a pumpkin spice latte. Half sweet, skim milk. “Wow. I would have spent the rest of the afternoon working from a bathroom stall if you hadn’t caught me.” At his questioning expression, I continue with the embarrassing word vomit. “I’m lactose intolerant and this much dairy would mean stomach cramps for days.” I bite my lips together and close my eyes. “Sorry. You didn’t need to know that. I haven’t taken a sip. See. No lipstick prints.” I thrust the cup toward him and reluctantly crack a lid.
He’s smiling. Widely. “I’m very glad I caught you when I did then. I wouldn’t want to be responsible for an afternoon of prolonged discomfort.”
We exchange takeout cups. “It would’ve been my fault for not checking more than the S, but I was trying to escape my embarrassment. Seems like it’s following me around and making things worse.” I step away from this exceptionally hot man who inspires an unprecedented amount of word vomit. “Thank you for stopping me. You, uh…you didn’t drink out of mine, did you?”
“I didn’t.” His eyes are blue. So vibrant and pretty and his teeth are straight. I glance at his hand. His ring finger is bare. Then I realize he’s giving my hand the same inspection. “Do you work around here?”
“Just across the street.” I thumb over my shoulder. “You?”
“No, but I’m in the area often.” He tucks a hand in his pocket. “Maybe you’d like to grab a coffee later this week?”
I blink at him. Then open my mouth and ask a stupid question. “Are you asking me out?”
“Unless you’re already seeing someone. I didn’t see a ring, so I was hopeful.” His bottom lip slides through his teeth and for a moment, he looks boyishly handsome.
“But…you don’t know anything about me.” I don’t know why I haven’t said yes yet. He’s attractive and thoughtful enough to stop me from drinking the wrong coffee. His kindness saved me from ending up curled in the fetal position on a bathroom floor.
He rubs the back of his neck. “I’ve seen you here before. I’ve been working up the nerve to introduce myself. Looks like the universe gave me a push in the right direction.” He holds up a hand and gives his head a little shake. “I’m probably making this awkward. I’ll be here Wednesday at eleven-thirty. Hopefully, I’ll see you then.” And with that, he turns and disappears into the crowd.

My Review...

As a long-time fan of Ms. Hunting’s work, I was so excited to see this.

It’s a great introduction and the origin story of the Pucked series (which is still one of my all-time favorites!)

This is the lovely, steamy story of Sidney and Skye. 

Two single parents, finding love again. It was swoony, hilarious and I loved the multiple POVs!

This novella was too short! I could have read a full-length novel about these two. 

I also loved seeing other main characters in her series making their appearances known! 

If you are new to Helena or a long-time fan, you are gonna want to read this gem!
