You know what they say…

All’s fair in the game of love and war—especially the heartbreaks.

Landon & Shay: Part One, an all-new second chance romance by Brittainy C. Cherry, is available now!

Landon & Shay AMAZON

Shay Gable hated my guts, and I hated hers, too.

We went out of our way to avoid one another at all times. When she came my direction, I went the other. When we locked eyes, she’d turn and walk away.

All of that changed the day I was presented with a challenge. It started out as a stupid bet: make Shay fall in love with me before I fell in love with her first.

That was an easy bet for me to win.

I didn’t love, I hardly liked.

Yet slowly the game started to shift. Shay made me crave things I never knew I wanted like love, happiness, and her.

The closer we grew, the more she challenged my darkness, and the parts I kept locked away.

The hurts.

The pains.

The truth.

The game between us became too real, our feelings intermixed, and the risks of hurting one another grew higher.

But you know what they say…

All’s fair in the game of love and war—especially the heartbreaks.

Landon

Spin Seven was a mixture of spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven. When it was my turn, I reached out to the bottle with no concern about whether or not it would land exactly where I wanted it to go. At fourteen years old, I’d learned how to perfect my spin-seven skills in order to kiss the girl I wanted.

Though, this time, I knew there wasn’t going to be a lot of kissing going on. More like yelling.

The bottle spun and spun, around and around. Shay’s eyes stayed glued to the glass beer bottle. The moment it started to slow down, I watched her lips part as she quietly muttered, “No, no, no,” before it stopped directly in front of her.

The circle began oohing and aahing at the idea that the two sworn enemies were on their way to the closet together for seven minutes straight. They were all here for that show, and I knew the moment we stepped into that closet, the door would be surrounded with people whispering and pressing their ear against it from the outside, trying to catch a snippet of what was going on behind closed doors.

I stood from the circle and gestured toward Shay. “Please,” I offered. “Chickens first.”

She grimaced, her thick, full eyebrows lowering a hair before she pushed herself up from the floor and headed toward the closet in haste. We both stepped inside and stood nose to nose.

“Okay, friends, you know the rules,” Eric said, grabbing the handle of the door. “Seven minutes in heaven—or, in your case, hell. Have fun!” He slammed the door shut, and the moment it happened, Shay whined with irritation.

“I can’t believe I’m locked in here with you for seven minutes. I could think of a million things I’d rather be doing,” she grumbled, probably with a pout.

“Like what?”

“Oh, I don’t know…watching paint dry.”

“Well, since we’re here, we should probably spend our time wisely,” I joked, moving to unbuckle my jeans, knowing it would bother her. I wished I could see the annoyance on her face. I loved when I got under her skin enough to make her nostrils flare.

“Oh my gosh, remove that idea from your mind, Landon, and stop messing with your belt, because there’s no way in hell I’m touching you.”

“I’ve thought about it before,” I said, my voice low and tame.

“Thought about what?”

“Kissing you.”

She huffed sarcastically. “I’m sure that’s not true.”

“You’re right, it’s not.”

“I know.”

It was true, though. It’d happened once—and only once—after Lance’s funeral. I had spent a lot of weeks being out of it, using alcohol to cope with the shitstorm raging inside my head, and I was a bit unstable. If my friends hadn’t been looking out for me, I would’ve probably gone overboard. I remembered walking into school one day and seeing Shay standing there at her locker with a few of her friends. She was laughing and tossing her head back in such a genuine way, and I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

I kept thinking about how she’d held me weeks prior and stayed with me during the lowest point of my life. She had been there—my enemy—taking care of my scars. And as I’d stared at her in the hallway, I’d thought about thanking her—walking over to her, parting my lips, and giving her my gratitude. I wasn’t used to people doing shit for me with no hope of anything in return, and Shay had done it without any expectations.

I remembered looking at her eyes, and then moving down to her slender nose, and then her cheeks, then those juicy lips.

I wondered how those lips would taste if I used mine against them to thank her. I wondered if she tasted like the candy she was always popping into her mouth. I wondered if she dripped of the angelic sin I always claimed her to be. I wondered for a split second…considered it for a blink in time…and then she slammed her locker, walked away, and I sobered up.

Still, I had considered it.

We both went quiet for a few moments before I cleared my throat again. I didn’t like silence. Silence and I didn’t get along too well. “Just one kiss, Chick. I can keep it a secret.”

“You keep secrets the same way you keep girls. AKA, you don’t—other than Monica.”

“Monica’s not mine.”

“That doesn’t change the fact that she thinks you’re hers.”

I smirked a little. “You jealous of her?”

“Jealous of her having to deal with a guy like you? Never in my life.”

“Whatever you say, Chick.”

“I wish you’d stop calling me Chick,” she snapped. “I hate it.”

“You want a new nickname, sweet cheeks? I can give you a new nickname, sweet cheeks.”

She shivered in disgust. Good. There was nothing I enjoyed more than getting on her nerves. “Not that either.”

“I’ll keep working on it.”

“Or you could just call me by my name.”

“Nah, Shay’s too ugly a name to leave my lips.”

“I hate you.”

“I hate you more.”

“Yeah, but I hate you the most.”

I snickered. “You really think you can get a guy like me to fall in love with you?”

“Yes. I’m positive, actually. People are the easiest to read, and that includes you.”

“You can’t read me, Shay.”

“I can, like an open book.”

“Okay.” I reached into my pocket, pulled out my cell phone, and turned on the flashlight, lighting up the small space. “Read me.”

She raised an eyebrow. “You sure you want me to do this? Reading people is kind of my gift, and you might not like what I have to say.”

“I never like what you have to say, so this time shouldn’t be any different. Go for it.”

She rolled her shoulders back and stretched out her arms as if she was about to deadlift me. “Okay. You’re fake, Landon.”

That was it? That was the big reveal? “What the hell do you mean I’m fake?”

“I mean exactly that. You. Are. Fake. F-A-K-E. Fake. There is nothing real about you. You’re a walking lie.”

I laughed. No joke, I actually laughed out loud, which didn’t happen often for me. It was a deep-rooted, belly laugh.

“What the hell are you talking about?” I questioned. “Everything about me is real. I’m the realist damn person you’ll come across in our town.”

“No,” she disagreed with a shake of her head. “You are the fakest. You’re even faker than the new boobs Carly Patrick got for her eighteenth birthday.”

What?!” I breathed out, stunned by her words. “I’m not fake, Shay.”

“It’s not a big deal, Landon.” She shrugged her shoulders and went to picking at her nails. “People seem to love your fakeness.”

“I’m not fake,” I argued again, my blood boiling at this point. “Plus, I’ve seen Carly’s boobs up close and personal. Those are straight in-your-face, nips-don’t-flick fake. There is no way in this world I’m more fake than those silicone watermelons. I’m a lot of shitty things, but fake isn’t one of them.”

“Okay then, can you answer a question for me?”

“Anything.”

“How many people know you’re sad?”

“The hell kind of question is that?” I barked.

“A very straightforward one,” she replied. She seemed so cool, calm, and collected—one of the many things I despised about her. It was as if her life was always so solid. I wished for that kind of stable structure, and seeing that she had it annoyed the living hell out of me.

“How long have you been sad, Landon?”

I glanced at my watch. “About a solid three minutes now, because being trapped inside this closet with you is complete hell.”

“Aren’t you the one who wanted to come in here with me?”

“Bad call. A lapse in judgment. I forgot how annoying you are.”

She smiled. She freaking smiled at me, pleased by my annoyance. “Are you going to answer me about your sadness?”

“Are you going to suck my dick?” I replied.

“Do you always do that?” she asked, tilting her head to the left as she studied my expressions. She was doing that thing she did—reading me. Taking note of my movements and the tightness of my jaw, taking in every inch of me.

Don’t let her read your pages, Landon. She couldn’t have even handled my prologue.

All my walls were up, and I wasn’t going to let her knock them down.

“Do what?” I questioned.

“Use sarcasm to shield your hurting.”

“There’s nothing hurting here. Look at this life. I have money, badass parties, and girls throwing themselves at me—why would I have anything to hurt about?”

“Maybe because money, girls, and parties don’t make a person happy. I see how miserable you are in your eyes.”

I grimaced and whisper-hissed, “You don’t know shit about me, Shay.”

“Then how am I able to get under your skin so easily? If that wasn’t true, if you weren’t sad, why would my saying that bother you so much?”

“You don’t,” I calmly replied.

She did.

She was pushing me, making me uncomfortable with the fact that she did seem able to see the parts of me no one else could. Anger was building in my chest, and I needed to defuse it before it became too big.

“Maybe it’s best if we shut up for the rest of the time,” I told her.

“For the second time in my life, I agree with you.”

Shay sat down on the floor of the closet, and I did the same, leaning back against some coats that were hanging. How did seven minutes feel like seventy? Was time moving at all? This was hell.

Then came the silence. The silence that brought out heavy thoughts. Shay could read my mind somehow, and so, when the silence became too much, I cleared my throat and tried to make small talk in hopes of shutting my own brain up. “A chicken and Satan walk into a closet—stop me if you’ve heard this one.”

She laughed a little.

It was quiet and low, and dammit, I’d never heard Shay laugh at anything I’d ever said before, so that was new. What was also new was the small part of me that enjoyed hearing her sound.

“Landon?” she whispered.

“Yeah?”

“Just shut up, all right?”

Yeah, okay.

“One more minute, you horny hatebirds!” Eric called out.

We both stood, and I took a step closer toward her. “I get you not wanting to kiss. That’s intimate and personal, but if you want, this is your last chance to touch my cock while no one’s looking. I won’t stop you.”

“No thanks. I’m allergic to peanuts,” she said so effortlessly and loudly, causing the crowd on the other side of the door to burst into laughter.

Shay smirked again, feeling proud of her little dig at me. That beautiful, annoying smirk I loved to hate.

Shay: 1

Landon: 0

I wasn’t worried, though. The game was just getting started. She might’ve scored one point, but I wasn’t going to let it happen again. We were playing on my field, and Shay didn’t know what she was up against.

My Review…

Green Valley Library Book #2

I just want to first start off by thanking Smartypants Romance for introducing me to another “new to me” author!  Nora Everly, you have a new fan! I will be stalking you (respectfully, of course!) shortly!

I fell in flove hard with Wyatt and Sabrina.

Sabrina is adorkable! I think most gals have a bit of her in her.  She is painfully shy and understandably has some anxiety issues.  Her past is ripe with heartbreak and she has learned to adapt to that.  But she is also ferociously strong and brave when it comes to her family.  Sabrina is a character I totally admire and want to be best friends with!

Oh my me Wyatt, how swoony can a hero be?!? He was everything that Sabrina needed and didn’t even know!  He too has some scars from his past and he has responsibilities that sometimes override his wants and needs but he comes through brilliantly for both his family and for Sabrina!

This story gave me all the feels!! I laughed, I got a bit misty, I swooned like heck and I got angry at what Sabrina had to put up with!

I am so loving this world, it was wonderful to see other characters in Green Valley make an appearance!

Get your hands on this!  You won’t be sorry, you are gonna fall in love too!

My professor gave me my first D.

Now my next assignment is due…in nine months.

You know when you meet your new professor, and he ends up being the same man you had a one-night stand with three months ago?

Okay, maybe not. Let me explain.

I hadn’t intended to sleep with my professor. I might be known as the impulsive, prankster daughter in my family, but I’m not insane. I just wanted to have some fun in Ireland at my sister’s wedding, and maybe lose my virginity, too.

When I met Lochlann Gallagher at a pub one night, I couldn’t resist him. He was hot, Irish, and entirely set on seducing me. One unforgettable night under the sheets with him, and my V-card went up in smoke.

Well, that night had one itty bitty consequence because Lochlann totally made my eggo preggo.

And if this story isn’t crazy enough, Lochlann is not just my baby daddy: he’s now my professor and my advisor for grad school.

Somehow we have to figure out a way not to reveal this rapidly gestating secret while resisting the explosive attraction between us.

Except there’s just one more complication to this story: I think I’m totally falling for my baby daddy.

Oopsie daisy.

My Review…

The Flower Shop Sisters

Oh how I was waiting, oh so impatiently, for Kate’s book!! And it was so worth the wait!

Oopsie Daisy is Kate & Lochlann’s story and what a funny, steamy, heartfelt story it is!

Kate is the youngest sister, she is the prankster, the nerdy girl, the screw-up….well that’s what she thinks.  I see her as funny, courageous and kick-butt type of heroine we all need!  She is fierce in her determination to make a better world.  When she meets Lochlann well then sparks fly and like gasoline and a flame they burn up the pages!

Lochlann is studious, he too is determined to make his mark in the world, but he falls in lust hard for Kate. I wanted to shake him sometimes for his selfishness, but then he came through quite brilliantly…

When Kate & Lochlann’s one night stand turns into so much more…well complications arise, feelings get changed and hearts get bruised.

Ms. Morland creates magic with her words! This is a true romantic comedy! Kate is hilarious and is such a foil to Lochlann’s uptight nature!

This whole series is fantastic, but I think I will have a soft spot for this story in particular!! So well done!

My Review…

Covet, Book One

Oh how to start this review…I am having a serious book hangover!

Ms. Van Dyken, brings so much in this story.  Angst, heat, heart and a story that is going to keep you glued to the pages until the very end, and then make you beg for more!

This is the story of Julian, Bridge and Isobel.  A love triangle for the ages.  The main characters’ lives are a twisted vine of lies and deceit.  But there is also the flowering of hope, forgiveness and love.

The dynamic between Bridge and Julian was poignant. A bond that time and distance made fragile, but when needed it was stronger than ever.

The love between each character is beautiful and flawed. The multiple POV’s brings so much to the story, it brings a richness to the characters and depth to the story.

I empathized with each main character and Ms. Van Dyken has the writing talent to bring you into the world that she created. I can honestly say that I fell in both love and hate with every main character and that my friends, is a talent few writers can inspire in me!

Do yourself a favor and read this story!! I am going to be waiting not so patiently for the next book in this series, I promise after you read Stealing Her, you will too!

Loving Miss Sassy by A.M. Madden & Joanne Schwehm is LIVE!! #OneClick today!

BOOK BLURB

I am sure of four things:

I’m the most sought-after social influencer.

I’m prepared to kick ass and take names.

I’m going to conquer the Big Apple.

I wasn’t prepared to have an unexpected roommate who happens to be drop-dead gorgeous.

Being the younger sister of two overprotective brothers taught me to be tenacious. Granted, that didn’t fare well when I mistook my roomie for an intruder. Fine, maybe a right hook wasn’t the most ladylike greeting, but his black eye only lasted a week. How was I supposed to know said intruder was also my advertising adversary?

The answer: I didn’t.

And having a single wall separating our bedrooms only adds more angst to my list. I’m sure I’ll never get a good night’s rest wondering if he sleeps commando . . . if those are moans I hear or snores . . . if he imagines me in his bed as I imagine him in mine.

The list goes on and on.

The most shocking thing I wasn’t prepared for was how he managed to capture my heart . . . right before he shattered it.

He called me Miss Sassy, and I proved him right.

My Review…

I just love revisiting the world that Ms. Madden and Ms. Schwehm have created!  Loving Miss Sassy is just another cherry on top!

This is Gianna and Colton’s story!  I was so looking forward to reading more about the feisty and spirited Gianna and this story did not disappoint!

Gianna is everything I hoped she be and more!  I loved her fiery Italian spirit and her take no prisoners attitude.  She knows how to handle her business and woe is the man that stands in her way!

Colton is just as determined to make his way in the world and his old school tendencies is just the right sort of chemistry to make opposites attract.

The dialogue is fresh and fun! I admired how Gianna stayed strong during the hard part of the relationship and didn’t crumble like a delicate flower.

It was also fantastic seeing past characters bringing their own voice to the story.  It didn’t distract, so if you haven’t read the other stories in this series don’t be scared off!  But as a reader that has, I want to say the secondary characters bring so much more to the story!

Get your hands on this sassy, smart and swoony read!

Excerpt

As Mindy gets closer, she begins rubbing her hand over her belly, ensuring I know she’s with spawn, I mean, child. How far along is she anyway? The picnic wasn’t that long ago and she didn’t look pregnant then, did she? Maybe she did, but I was too shocked by the ring on her finger to notice? My mother would’ve said something to me when she broke the news about Mindy and Asher being married, so she must not have noticed either.

Maybe she just carries big… and early. Maybe she’s pregnant with multiples. That would be rich—I can’t even get pregnant with one, but Mindy Mitchell, husband stealer extraordinaire, can have my husband and all the babies.

All I know is that I have to stop gawking because Mindy is enjoying this way too much.

“Hey, Tempest. Soup for one, I presume?” Her smile is wide and condescending as she glances at the contents of my shopping cart.

Bitch.

“You know, I’ve been so busy lately that canned soup is all I have time for some nights. It’s not always the healthiest option, with all that sodium, but I’m fortunate to not retain water, like you obviously do.”

Really, Tempest? Is that the best put-down you can think of?

“I’m not bloated, silly.” She laughs, swatting the air in front of her face. “I’m pregnant! Of course, I don’t expect you to notice the difference.”

It’s illegal to hit a pregnant lady, Tempest.

She’s not worth the jail time.

Deep, cleansing breaths.

You don’t look good in orange.

“How far along are you?” I ask, willing myself to stay calm. “Elephants are pregnant, for what, two years?” I know I’m being immature, but I’m using my words and not my fists, so I’m calling it a win.

“Gah, you’re such a bitch. No wonder Asher wanted to leave you. At least I was able to give him what he wanted,” she brags, rubbing her belly even faster than before.

Maybe if she rubs a little more, a fucking genie will pop out, and I can at least get three wishes out of this deal. Wish one: Asher and Mindy disappear off the face of the planet.

“And,” she continues, “because I know it’s driving you crazy, I’ll let you in on the secret. I’m in my third trimester.” She smiles and squeals, like we’re BFFs and she just told me the best news. “Just a couple more months to go and this precious bundle of joy will be in the world… Asher is going to be such a great daddy.”

The blood drains from my face as I do the math in my head. Asher and I have been divorced for almost two months. I found them in bed together three months before that. Two plus three does not equal the amount of months it takes to be in the third trimester. I know my pregnancy facts.

Mindy just answered one of my many burning questions: that sack of shit was cheating on me months before I busted him.

And now, he’s having a baby with someone else.

Honestly, I don’t know how to feel right now… numb, blind-sided, furious, hurt?

All I know is I’m trying my damnedest not to lose my shit.

Deep breaths.

“Believe me,” Mindy says, breaking through the haze I’m in. “I tried and tried to get Asher to leave you before you found out about us on your own, but he didn’t listen.” She sighs, like she’s disappointed for me… like she’s on my side and she was trying to do me a favor. “Oh, well, life goes on, right?”

We enter into a bit of a staring competition for a brief moment, her bright, smiling eyes against my crazy, sadistic glare. I feel the crazy oozing out of me. When she finally starts to back her buggy up to make a U-turn in the aisle, she has the audacity to smile… and wink at me.

She’s the incarnation of Satan.

Asher and Mindy aren’t going to have a bouncing bundle of joy, they’re going to have a devil love child. I should alert the media. This has a horror movie written all over it.

“See you around, Tempest,” she says over her shoulder, before stopping and turning. “Oh, I guess I’ll see you at the reunion, if not before… and you’re bringing a date, right?”

Deep breaths, Tempest.

I don’t answer her with words, only with my glare, hoping it burns a hole in her skull.

You can do this.

Don’t let that cow win.

After she makes a turn onto another aisle, I take a few more deep breaths, willing my nerves to calm, and when that doesn’t work, I close my eyes and try harder. With my hands on my knees, I suck in air like it’s going extinct. My breathing becomes routine and I automatically start swaying my body in preparation for the Tai Chi moves that come next.

Cage has been teaching me a little bit of Tai Chi to further help channel my anger and anxiety and I have to admit, I love it. Completely forgetting where I am, I begin to perform my favorite combination of steps. If people see me, I don’t care. I’d rather them talk about me doing Tai Chi in the canned goods aisle than losing my shit at the Piggly Wiggly.

I’m finally feeling relaxed and in control of my emotions, so to celebrate my victory, I decide to throw a few punches into the air, similar to what Rocky Balboa did after running up all those stairs in the movie.

I am Tempest Cassidy, master of my emotions.

Thoroughly enjoying myself, I decide to end my impromptu workout with a killer roundhouse kick… right into a tower of Pork N Beans.

At first, it’s only a few cans. I lurch out, containing them in a lunge, looking around to see who might’ve witnessed my performance. Only a lady down at the other end of the aisle seems to be in the know. I breathe out a sigh of relief, feeling uncharacteristically lucky as I try to balance the cans and myself.

Just as I decide it’s safe to stand up, I lose my balance and the cans in my hands take a tumble… and then the entire end cap begins to fall.

Cans.

Cans of Pork N Beans are rolling everywhere.

When everything finally comes to a rest, I’m sprawled out on the glossy tile of the Piggly Wiggly in aisle six, using my body as a dam to stop them from getting too far. I’m afraid to move… afraid to breathe…

My Review…

Oh Jiffy Kate! Where have you been all my reading life!!

This story, based in the world of Green Valley is spectacular! This Donner Bakery story is everything a romantic comedy should be! Full of heart, heat and oh the laughter is right up my alley! I floved it!

This is the story of Tempest and Cage.

Tempest is the proverbial “Tempest in a teacup” she may be small but she is mighty. When the unthinkable happens to her. Well let’s just say that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned and she ultimately pays the price. (But I was rejoicing the whole way!) She is struggling to find herself again and when she starts a friendship with Cage, well she finds who she really is.

Cage, oh my me this lovable Viking! He is everything that is good and swoony in a hero! He is a retired cage fighter with a heart of gold and a body for sin. He strives to be everything that Tempest needs and more.

I cheered hard for them, I laughed with them and even got a little misty for them! You get all the feels in this book!

I will definitely be going back and adding some of their previous stories to my TBR list!

Well done ladies, so well done!

Billy Winston’s family is going to see him happy and in love if it’s the last thing they do.

Beard Necessities, the final standalone in the bestselling romantic comedy Winston Brothers series from New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Penny Reid, is available now!

20191008-BN

No one deserves a happily-ever-after quite as much as the second oldest Winston brother and his lady love, Claire McClure (aka Scarlet St. Claire). Cruelty and circumstance tore them apart almost twenty years ago. Secrecy and bitterness kept them separated.

But you know who’s tired of their separation and stubbornness? Everyone. Especially Billy Winston’s family. And now they’re going to do something about it.

Well-meaning interference means the star-crossed lovers can’t stop tripping over each other in the hills of Tuscany, the catacombs of Rome, and the waterways of Venice. Billy and Claire find themselves thrown together and at the mercy of the Winston siblings’ shenanigans.

But will their forced proximity bring them together? Or push them even further apart?

This second-chance romance brings back the entire Winston gang, playing cupid in one last story of love, hi-jinks, and family collusion.

BEARD NECESSITIES is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, and can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s probably best read after books 0.5, 2, 3, 5, and 6 of the Winston Brothers series.

My Review…

I am going to admit, I was apprehensive when I saw this book on my Kindle. I knew it was Billy and Scarlet’s story and I was excited to finally read it.  But I was also sad because I knew that this was the end….the bittersweet end of the Winston Brothers novels…

Reading Scarlet and Billy’s story was like coming home again.  Being welcomed into the amazing Winston family.  Whether it was it Green Valley, Tuscany, Italy or Nashville.  This story truly shows the meaning of your home is where your heart is. It’s not the bricks and wood that make up a cabin or a house.  It’s the people, it’s the love and that’s everything.

The years of miscommunication, misunderstandings and secrets between Scarlet and Billy were just too many to count.  The love that had simmered between these two was beyond amazing.  A true testament to the writing genius of Ms. Reid is that even with the years separating and the anger and frustration between Scarlet and Billy, it had to be that way to make their beautiful happy ending just so much more brilliant.

I will admit when I finished reading this final story of the Winston Brothers (and sister, because Ashley is a force to be reckoned with), I got a bit weepy, a bit nostalgic and then I smiled when I realized, I didn’t have to say goodbye forever.  I could pick up Truth or Beard and start the magical journey all over again!

Thank you, Ms. Reid, for creating this world and this family and letting your readers be a part of it!

My Review…

“…Until we find our forever, for you, I’ll take them all…”

This continuing saga of the Forever Trilogy is even more rich and complex than the first story.  The heartbreak and tragedy bleed from the pages.

This is the continuing story of Elisabeth and Carter.  More secrets revealed, more tragedies unfold.  And Ms. Allen the risks you took to bring this story to life leave me in more awe of your writing!

What are you willing to do for love?  What are you willing to sacrifice and let die for it?  These questions plagued me throughout this story.  And then the unbelievable twist is just….well I can’t think of the words to describe the total agony my head and heart feel for Elisabeth and Carter.

I remember reading the prologue, in book one, so I know that there is a bright and shining future for them.  But to read this gut-wrenching story just makes me want to cheer even harder for a miracle, for some divine intervention for Beth and Carter.  They deserve all the happiness, they deserve all the love…and they deserve each other.

This saga is going to stay with me for a long time.  The ferocity of Elisabeth is awe-inspiring and Carter’s dedication is nothing short of everything!

I cannot wait to read the final story in this trilogy!  The world that Ms. Allen creates is truly amazing!
