We’ve been best friends since we were five: Beau, Masyn, and me.
But nothing’s as simple as it seems.
Relationships change and so do people.
Especially now.
With Beau getting married, and a new girl in town, it’s time to confess.
I’m in love with my best friend.
…And I think I’m too late.

Felicity and Beau greeted each person at the door and thanked them for coming. His parents were next in the welcome wagon, and I thought the whole thing was strange. This girl had more personalities than Sybil. I could only guess what her mother had said to her, or better yet, Beau’s mother. Mrs. Chastain reigned supreme in these parts. She was head of every women’s committee in the county, did countless hours of volunteering, led the church bizarre, and put on the town’s fall festival every year. She was as Southern as apple pie and moonshine, right down to the accent and the debutante balls.
“Masyn, dear, you look lovely tonight. Hopefully, I’ll be attending your wedding in the near future.” Mrs. Chastain turned her attention to me. “Don’t wait too long, Lee. Someone might sweep her out from under you.”
Dear God, this woman had been hitting the sauce already. “We’re not dating, Mrs. Chastain,” I reminded her for about the hundredth time in six years.
Masyn had been wrapped up in the arms of Mr. Chastain while my conversation continued with his wife.
“Fiddlesticks. Just because you don’t label it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.” She waved her hand at me and grinned. “Seriously, Lee. Your mother would roll over in her grave to know you hadn’t made an honest woman out of Masyn.”
I wouldn’t know. My mother had died when I was three, and I remembered very little about her. My father struggled to raise me after she passed away. Not because he couldn’t support us financially—he never stopped grieving her loss. To this day, it controlled him. I finally convinced him, after I graduated, to move to the city and get out of this town where memories bogged him down like quicksand. He seemed a bit happier now that he didn’t live in the past, but I could only attest to what he told me since I didn’t see him much.
“I’ll take that into consideration, Mrs. Chastain.” I loved Beau’s mom. She’d been meddling in my love life since we were kids; I didn’t expect her to stop now. Luckily, she’d done the same to Masyn. Oddly, she never pushed Masyn toward Beau. Even as little kids, she coupled the two of us.
She leaned in and kissed my cheek. “Don’t drink too much tonight. You hear me?”
“Yes, ma’am.” I stopped myself from striking a rigid pose and saluting her. I’d been smacked enough for one day.
A tug on my arm finally pulled me through the line of greetings. If it had been anyone else, I might have bitched about them being rude. That tiny hand was as familiar as the smell of motor oil. Masyn could drag me anywhere she wanted to go, and I’d follow willingly.
Masyn laced her fingers with mine and clutched her side with the other. “I’m starving. Please tell me this is a buffet and we don’t have to wait for a seated dinner.”
I raised my eyebrows and let her form her own opinion. A buffet—that was laughable. I would have a buffet—or hell, maybe even a barbeque. Beau Chastain would not. And I doubted Felicity even knew what one was. “How about a drink, instead?”
“You shouldn’t drink on an empty stomach.”
She was right; I shouldn’t. But we both knew I would. This wasn’t my social scene, regardless of the fact I’d grown up in it. I spent more time with Beau’s family than I did my own. When my dad flaked out, the Chastains picked up the slack. And somehow, Masyn fit into the majority of my childhood memories as well. Her family was good as gold, and they welcomed me the same way the Chastains had. In some ways, my mother dying left me with two others and three fathers. I picked up Masyn’s three brothers and Beau, Bodie, and Braden as well. No one ever knew the Porters and Chastains came from different social standings—and in my opinion, thatwas the sign of true class. Felicity didn’t stand a chance of fitting in with the likes of Beverly Chastain.
“You’re going to anyhow, aren’t you?” The pout that formed on her lips almost had me giving in. Almost. If she’d pressed those plump lips to mine, I would become an active leader in a movement toward prohibition.

His beautiful British rival
Every time Izzy slams Brooks in her fitness blog, her book sales soar. But when their escalating media feud forces them to be up-close-and-personal for two weeks, she realizes there’s much more to Brooks than that incredible body.
And a competition that’s got their hearts racing…
Soon Izzy and Brooks are finding all kinds of creative ways to work up a sweat. A passionate workout is easy, but can their rivalry give way to a lasting partnership?

Playing to Win – the second book in the Brits in Manhattan series….
This is the first book I have read from Laura Carter, and color me impressed!
This is the story of Izzy (Isabella) and Brooks and what a chemistry they have!
Izzy was a bird in a gilded cage, but wanted so bad to be free, to break the chains of upper crust British family and be her own person, to do the things she loved. I admired her tenacity and I wanted to shake her when she made such poor choices and bad mistakes! But in the end I loved her for breaking away and becoming happy doing what she wanted to do!
Oh Brooks, my heart broke for him. His history with Alice and the result in Cady was so sad. It really did follow him and dictate his life and choices for the years following. He’s had his heart broken and it was going to take a strong person to get through to him.
Like I said earlier, Izzy and Brooks chemistry is off the charts! Their bickering and fighting was foreplay to them and it was fun to read! It wasn’t all hearts and flowers which made it more real! There was some laughter from me while reading this, especially when Brooks is salsa dancing in the shadows and gets caught!
I am so glad to have the opportunity to read this and can’t wait to read what’s next for Laura! Thank you for your words and stories! Well done!
Shameless is a standalone featuring a different couple
From the Epigraph to the Epilogue, this book was phenomenal!
This story of Ethan and Tori is what a perfect romantic comedy should be.
Tori has had craptacular luck in her past and even though she has had it hard, she still holds onto her humor, feistiness and truthfulness which makes her my hero! Some of Tori’s comments and thoughts made me laugh out loud (getting some strange looks from my family) while I was reading. I love a story that does that!
Ethan, oh Mylanta is this man fabulous! I think the quote that made me fully swoon was “…you have occupied most of my thoughts, half of my dreams and at least two-thirds of my future plans…” Wowza, I needed a cold shower after that, and it’s just one of the many swoon worthy things he says and does that makes me melt! Fantastically done Lex! He is the quintessential gentleman cowboy. Trust me, once you read this you will want an “Ethan” for yourself!
The secondary characters are fantastic! They really add to the story and I hope that we get to see a book about Logan soon! (Pretty please?)
The dialogue is quick, funny and oh so steamy that it makes you really want to keep reading until the end.
Thank you for your fantastic stories Lex! Never stop writing!!

Ellis’s love of romance began when she was 11 years old,

Until Cole McClish’s boat drifts into Talbott’s Cove, and I bend all my rules for the sexy sailor.
I don’t know Cole’s story or what he’s running from, but one thing is certain:

Kate Canterbary doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since.
Kate lives on the water in New England with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.

To start….that dedication grabbed my heart!
I love how Kate’s stories are all tangentially bound, it’s beautiful without being overbearing. You have to savor her words slowly, like fine wine or you will miss something. Everytime I read her words, I do so in small sips, so I can truly appreciate it.
This story of Owen and Cole is just wow. This story really stretched my comfort zones in just the right way. I felt like I was being treated with kid gloves when needed and pushed when warranted. It made me respect Kate all the more. This is the first book I have read in the M/M genre and I am glad I did it with Fresh Catch. It was a beautifully written story.
Owen, the lobster boat captain and Cole, the tech billionaire. I liked how they were both comfortable in their own skin but wary as well, it made it believable and made me love them all the more. I loved how they walked the tightrope of their sexuality in the beginning, ever so cautious but once revealed it was like a house on fire! You get real, you get honest and you get that their love is their own and they are not apologizing for it.
I loved the secondary characters and of course, I hope to see more of a certain few in the future, I will not spoil this by naming anyone but know when you read this book, you will find a few of your own!
Kate Canterbary has a die hard fan in me, she has yet to write something that I haven’t fallen in love with.
I want to sign off with this quote that did it for me…it is a total Kateism! (Can I coin that word as a new dictionary entry?!?) “…Stick-to-your-ribs, prickle-the-back-of-your-neck, hot-and-sweaty-all-over, headboard-banging desire…” Wowza, I needed a cold shower after reading that!
If you have never read this genre before or a die hard fan, do yourself a favor and read this! Kate Canterbary is the queen of the smart, sassy, smutty words!

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.
Growing up, the three of us were friends.
He was the nerd.
I was the playboy.
She was the beauty.
Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits.
He lied.
I went off to college, and he got the girl.
Amber never knew how I felt.
They were together for years—before he broke her heart.
Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch.
When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.
Still reeling from her breakup, she’d sworn off men.
One night, I opened her computer to find the shock of my life. She’d hesitantly contacted a male escort company. Afraid to date and get her heart broken again, she was looking for sex with no strings.
Every emotion imaginable ran through me: protectiveness, jealousy—curiosity.
Amber had chosen Gentleman Number Nine and sent him a message.
She opened up to him, confessing, among other things, her physical attraction to her friend— me. But she considered me off-limits—and she thought I was a manwhore. (Ironic, considering the circumstances.)
Eventually, she set up a date to meet Gentleman Nine at a hotel.
When she showed up several nights later to meet him, she got the surprise of her life to see me standing there—with an offer I hoped she wouldn’t refuse.

Ellis’s love of romance began when she was 11 years old,

This is the debut novel from MV Ellis and what a fantastic start!!
This story of Arlo (love that name!) and London is a fast paced story with funny dialogue and steamy naughtiness too!
I like that London is a multi-racial character, no blonde with blue eyes here! I loved her drive and I understood her trepidation and guilt about her feelings for Arlo. Although I wanted to smack her because it took her so long to admit to her feelings, she came through at the end!
Arlo is the epitome of a bad boy rock star, he was no holds barred with that alpha swagger. At first I was thinking, what a jerk! But then as the story moved on I saw the swoon factor kick in! You will love him by the end!
I would have loved to see some chapters from Arlo’s POV, but it still was fantastic first story from MV! I can’t wait to see what else she comes out with !
