Together Duet – Part Two

Wow, just wow! What an ending to this fantastic debut duet by new author Melody Eve!

This is the continuing story of Aria and Roman.  This story picks up right where the last book left off.

Just like Him & I (the first book in the duet), Ms. Eve gives us little teasers of information surrounding the mystery in the story.  She is the queen of misdirection, and I love it!

Aria is trying to exert her independence, but it comes at a price.  She is learning the extent of Roman’s protective tendencies.  Will she adjust accordingly?  Read on and find out!

Roman is still the stalkerish, protective, alpha male that I fell in love with! He is learning the difference between overbearing and letting Aria make decisions freely. He is still punishing himself for his past in the most “in your face” way.  Let’s hope with Aria’s loyalty and love he can move forward to the future!

My Review…

Another stellar book!

I really enjoy when Ms. Todd writes with a military spin.  She gets it!

The Brightest Stars is the story of Karina and Kael, but it’s also so much more!

Karina is the product of her environment, her parents divorce and being an Army brat shaped her into the person she is now.  She is trying hard to break from her past and is well on her way, still with some bumps, but she is trying. The only person she really trusts is her twin Austin, and he’s a hot mess.

Kael is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma.  He is a soldier, he is just returned from deployment and is injured.  But who is he? Karina, despite her trepidation, wants to know more about him. She becomes addicted, almost obsessed with Kael and that scares her.

This story starts with sadness, but we won’t get the full explanation.  You will be guessing throughout the book.  In fact when I finished, I went back and read the first couple chapters to see if I could figure it out….I couldn’t.

The secondary characters are just as important as the main ones! Make sure you don’t just fly by them.  I got the feeling there is more at play than just complimenting the main characters in this story.

The ending, whew…well read it and find out! It threw me through a loop and I am hoping that Ms. Todd will grace us with another book in this world she created.  I would love to read more!

This book is one you won’t be able to put down until you finish it and then it will leave you hoping for more!

My Review…

I just fall in love harder with Ms. Boldt every time I read her stories!

The Good Samaritan is the perfect story! It made me smile, it made me cry and it made me swoon! All the ingredients needed for a perfect romance.

But this is more than a romance. It’s a story about redemption and forgiveness.

I felt for Faith, I was full of sorrow about how she felt about her secret. How because of a hurtful past, it made her feel less than. Made her feel that she will lose herself and will never be happy.

Oh Jude. I wanted to wrap him in a warm blanket and hug him tight. He is searching for a way to redeem himself from his secret. But their is nothing to redeem. He is a true hero in every sense of the word.

I applauded Faith’s acceptance of Jude. She never saw anything other than what made him worthy of her love and faith.

I also applaud Ms. Boldt for making her characters flawed. Also for the honesty of making Faith and Jude fix themselves before trying to find their forever together.

The secondary characters are phenomenal! I loved how they came into the picture at just the right time. And how their presence made their mark in Faith and Jude’s lives.

I cannot tell you enough, dear readers, how much I loved this story! Do yourself a favor and get this book. Read it slow and enjoy it! It will make you stop and think of things you thought you knew just a bit differently!
