Cruel Summer Book 3

What a beautiful ending to a beautiful series.  How I wished I would have lucky enough to go to this summer camp. You can feel the music, see the musical.  It was brilliant!

Marlo and Ray…they fought their way from hate to love.

Ray learned to love herself again.  She learned that she was worthy of love.  She was able to climb out of the guilt that wasn’t hers to carry.

Marlo just wanted to be everything for Ray.  He learned how to just “be” with her.  As friends and as lovers.

As with the first two books in this, the secondary characters are hysterically funny and bring such a breath of fresh air to the angst in the story!

Loved this series! Get your hands on it! Re-live summertime with this series!

My Review…

“..a hooker like me needs a Mai Tai…”

Wow! Ms. Crowley really knows how to grab a reader from page one in this story!!

Fool Me Once is the story of Lex, Carter and Nate.  It spans years, and Ms. Crowley made the timeline flow effortlessly.

I honestly didn’t know who to root for!  I loved all the characters in their own way and to have a decision on like Lex’s on my shoulders, well I don’t know what I would have done.

I love Lex, she is fierce, she is independent and is honest!  She doesn’t hold back on saying what she needs to say and that’s refreshing!  She makes the the most out of a difficult situation and does it with determination, grace and a great support system.

Carter and Max come in different parts of Lex’s life but they both make a important impact on her.

The twist in the story is fantastic and it kept me turning pages until the end. You think you know what’s about to happen and Ms. Crowley flips the script!!

This book was a fantastic read and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!! Maybe a spin off of some of the characters of this story? Who knows, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be just as great!

Book One of the Perversion Trilogy….

I fell in love with Ms. Frazier when I read The Dark Light of Day.  I have followed her religiously since then.

And let me tell you, just when I thought there is NO WAY she can top her last story.  She blows up that thought!

I am obsessed with this story! The world Ms. Frazier creates in the town of Lacking, Florida is so raw, so gritty, so dirty and if “feels” so real!

This story of Tristan “Grim” Paine and Emma Jean “Tricks” Parish, it’s the story of a crime ridden town of Lacking, it’s the story of “All’s fair in love and gang war”.

A chance meeting as children, both products of the foster system. They have something special but circumstances and life of a foster child has other plans for the both of them.

Both Grim and Tricks are placed in other foster “homes”.  But it is much more twisted than that.

There is evil, there is mystery, there is the beginnings of love and there is a helluva twist at the end of book one! You won’t see it coming and when it does, it’s about as subtle as a two by four upside the head.

The secondary characters are phenomenal and add such dimension to the story.

I will be waiting, counting the days until the next book in this trilogy!!  This story is definitely in the running for my “Favorite Reads of 2018”

Brava Ms. Frazier!! I bow down to your greatness as a storyteller! You have the rare talent of grabbing the reader and bringing them into the world you have created!

Emma Hart is one of the top romantic comedy authors there are out there! I am declaring it! I am in the process of stalking her faithfully.

Best Served Cold is the story of Raelynn and Chase.

This couple is epically funny! They are fantastically real and they love each other despite their idiosyncrasies. They both know they have rough edges, but as Chase says “her rough edges fit to mine…”

Rae and Chase have a long history. It’s lovely and then it’s not. There is some epic fails on Chase’s part to keep Rae in his life. And Rae learns that love comes in all different degrees and changes as you become older, wiser and more yourself.

This isn’t an insta-love story. This is a real story of love, heartbreak and above all else, forgiveness. It’s about letting the grudges and hurts go and embrace the here and now. To try to forget the past and move forward.

I absolutely loved this story, I have yet to read something by Ms. Hart that I haven’t liked.

If you are looking for a laugh out loud, steamy, romantic story with a dash of revenge thrown in. Get Best Served Cold, you won’t regret it!

PS. You will get a cute little story about otters too!! Who doesn’t love otters?!?

My Review…

I had been waiting so patiently for this book.  The fantastic ending to the Survival of the Richest Series.

The Evolution of Man is the continuing story of Harper, Christopher and Sutton.  What made this story really grab me was the grittiness, the down and dirty, the hurt and loss.  It made my heart bleed.

I could feel the emotional turmoil of the artist in Harper.  I could feel the heartbreak in Sutton.  I could feel the vulnerability that Christopher kept hidden so well.

The library was such a good metaphor for this story.  The beauty, the destruction and the truth of being able to fix what was broken.

This story was deep, you have to savor the words like a fine wine.  Ms. Warren really grabs you by the soul in this story.  She drags you through her words and makes you feel, which is a true testament to a fine story teller.

The final chapter was beautiful.  It was rich in imagery and a beautiful end to such a tragic tale.

This story and the other stories in this series were phenomenal! I cannot wait to see what Ms. Warren comes out with next! (You may get something sooner, rather than later…that’s the only spoilerish thing you will get from me!!)

Chick Flicks Club

Oh how I love this first book in the new series! Every gal needs their own chick flick club and tribe of friends that have your back and will help bury the bodies!

This story is about Gemma (who we met briefly in Man Candy) and Zach.

Gemma is such a sweetheart, always seeing the positive, but don’t take that as weakness! She is strong and loyal and will fight with the best of them. She loves her friends and she tolerates her “Bigfoot” neighbor Zach, at least in the beginning.

Zach is recovering from his ex and is embracing his single life by living like he was in college. He kicks cleanliness and personal grooming to the wayside and embraces his nickname that Gemma bestows on him. He thinks he is over his ex, but is he? Read and see!

I love the humor in Ms. Monroe’s stories! They are outrageously funny! Add to that the romance and off the charts steaminess and you get one helluva story!

Underneath all the hair and sloppiness of Zach beats the heart of a true romantic and with the help of Gemma, he finds it again.

The secondary characters are phenomenal and bring such humor and levity to the story! I cannot wait to see what comes of them as each new story comes out!

If you haven’t read Lila Monroe, what in the heck are you waiting for?!? Go now and get this book, the start of her new series and I can guarantee you will be reading all of her books! I am!
