My Review…
This is the first story I have read by Lily Kate, however it won’t be my last!
Awkward was a fantastic story!
This story of Jack Darcy (as a huge Jane Austen fan, I loved this!) and Allie Jenkins is the perfect friends to lovers story!
Allie is a phenomenal heroine! She is quirky, she is unapologetic (unless she needs to be) and she loves her best friend! She is so funny “I just learned that my best friend, my oldest friend, my Chinese-food-eating-partner-in-crime might be moving to the penis of America. I am allowed a few tears.” She is everything!
Jack is perfection! He is so adorably awkward. He loves his best friend and doesn’t know how to move forward with it! His inner dialogue is funny and sarcastic “Or a thump. You know, something manlier than a flutter. Or maybe it’s heartburn.”
I loved the alternate POV’s and Lily really nails both parts with excellence. This struggle for both Jack and Allie was real, it was honest and it ended beautifully.
I can’t wait to see what Ms. Kate has next for her readers! Thank you for this story! I will be re-reading this one, again and again in the future!
