Parker’s grasp as we kiss is masterful, his hips pivoting until we’re in a tiny closet, the door shutting behind us, our bodies surrounded by coats. If you are looking for a laugh out loud, swoony, and a tale of forgiveness on an epic scale look no further than this new release by Julia Kent.

We were briefly introduced to Perky (Persephone to some) in Fluffy, but don’t worry you can totally read this as a stand alone!

The awful, embarrassing and tragic event that happened to Perky five years ago has really shaped her into the gal she is now. She is stubborn in her mind set of who to blame for this, but not all is what it seems.

Enter Parker, the supposed perpetrator of the event that changed Perky’s life. He is trying so hard to get back in Perky’s good graces, to proclaim his innocence.

The chemistry between Perky and Parker hasn’t diminished at all in the five years they have been apart. Sparks fly and the heat between these two is magnificent!

You are going to catch yourself laughing out loud, you are going to find yourself demanding some sort of revenge satisfaction and you are going to find yourself cheering hard for the happily ever after that both Perky and Parker deserve!

I absolutely love the worlds that Ms. Kent creates in her stories, you are going to get carried away into this story and won’t want to leave when it’s over!

Chapter One

“I brought home a surprise!” Rose Buchanan threw her arms out wide as if embracing the world. From the sto- ries she told to the way she entered the room, Rose was exuberant and entertaining and enjoyed being the center of attention.

Isabel Buchanan, who was perfectly content on the fringes, pushed her wavy hair off her sticky forehead with hands that trembled from the nightmare drive through At- lanta to the airport to pick up her mom. Her mom’s trip to Scotland had doubled as both research and vacation. The jammed stop-and-go traffic had left Izzy flustered and al- ready dreading their exit from the airport.

Rolling her stiff shoulders, Izzy stepped around the bumper of the car, popping the trunk open on the way. Her mom had a beautiful plaid scarf of greens and browns and blues tossed over her shoulder and what appeared to be new earrings. Either purchase might inspire her mother to gush, and she would expect reciprocal gushing from Izzy. Making an educated guess, Izzy asked, “Are those ear-

rings your surprise?”

Without waiting for an answer, she hauled one of her mom’s giant wheeled suitcases closer and prepared to heave it into the back. The sooner they got out of Atlanta, the sooner she could get back to work planning the High- land festival. Or she might pour an extra-large glass of wine and escape into a book. A guilty pleasure, consider- ing how much she still had to get in order in three scant weeks.

“Allow me, please.” A bearded man who had been roll- ing cases to the curb stepped forward with a grin and an accent Izzy couldn’t place.

She checked her pockets and winced. No cash to tip the man, and no hope her mom had thought of something so inconsequential.

“Do you like them? They’re hammered silver.” Her mom flipped her bobbed matching silver hair to the side and displayed one earring with her fingers. “And as a matter of fact, I did buy them from a lovely shop in Edin- burgh, but I brought something bigger home. Something more exciting.”

“Your scarf? It’s lovely.” Izzy gave her mom limited attention while she watched the man load suitcase after suitcase into her trunk, fitting them together like a puzzle. More luggage than her mom had left with. She waved to catch the man’s attention. “Hang on. That’s not all my mom’s stuff.”

For the first time, Izzy really looked at the man. He was close to her mom in age, and good-looking in a bear- like way with a gleaming white smile highlighted by a salt-and-pepper beard. His full head of hair was a shade darker, but graying heavily at the temples. The expres- sion on the man’s face when he looked in her mom’s direction—a mix of adoration and amusement—cleared the fog of confusion.

Lord have mercy, her mother had brought back a six- foot, two-hundred-pound-plus souvenir from Scotland.

A Highland, Georgia Novel

I was so excited to get the opportunity to read the first story in a new series by Laura Trentham.

This story is an eclectic mix of Southern charm and Scottish pride. This is Isabel and Alasdair story and what a fantastic story it is.

Isabel is quirky and original. She is comfortable in the life she has led since her father passed away. It’s been her and her momma ever since. Until, that is, her momma drops an unexpected surprise or what I like to call a souvenir from her trip to Scotland.

Alasdair is on a mission. He is on a mission to “save” his uncle from the American tart. He arrives to Highland, Georgia determined to get in, get his uncle and get out. Nobody the wiser. But when he meets the Buchanan women, he falls fast and hard for the lovely Isabel.

There are secrets aplenty that threaten to shatter the fragile relationships that are developed. But don’t fear, secrets come to light and forgiveness is a true virtue.

I absolutely fell in love with the magical town of Highland, Georgia that Ms. Trentham created. Her vivid descriptions of the town and its people made me feel as though I was there, walking down Main Street, enveloping myself in the southern Scottish flair of the town.

You are gonna fall in love with this sweet story that has heart, heat and enough swoon to make you want the story to never end! I cannot wait for the next installment!

My Review…

This fast paced insta-love story that has that Ker & K twist that you know and love.

This is Breezy & Lucca’s story is also a bit of a second chance romance that I really like!

I loved the whole premise of Lucca “watching” Breezy. Yes it’s a bit stalkerish, but I like to think of the alpha possessiveness has an underlying sweetness to it. He loves her and he wants her to be protected.

Breezy is doing what she has to do to survive. To make a life for her and those close to her. I love her nickname and the story behind it!

If you are looking for a book you can’t put down till the end, with the heat and heart that both Ker and K bring to their stories, you can’t go wrong with this!

My Review…

Well Ms. Stewart, you have done it again! You have made me fall in love even more with you and your writing!

A true underdog story indeed!! I was cheering so hard for Theo and I absolutely floved both Theo and Lainey!

It’s usually a challenge for me to actually laugh out loud when reading a romantic comedy, but holy crow, I caught myself laughing out loud and actually crying with laughter at some points in this story! I knew Ms. Stewart could bring the angst and the heartbreak in her past stories but she really brought the humor and heart in this story!

Theo is a true renaissance man! He is what you need in a hero and more! I loved his vulnerability and I admired his honesty about it.

Lainey is a self described gpysy soul. I loved her humor, her loyalty and her heart! She too has her vulnerabilities and copes with them in the best way she knows how.

The slow burn in this story is off the charts hot and the whole premise of this story is so honest and so refreshing! A true original! The secondary characters bring even more to the story and I hope that Ms. Stewart isn’t done writing in this world she has created!

This is definitely in the running for one of my “Best Reads of 2019”. I laughed, I swooned and I fell in love hard with all the characters in this novel! #livingyourrealistlife indeed!!

My Review…

Lyrics and Love Book 2

Now I will be the first to admit, when I realized that Ms. Lind created the Lyrics and Love series based on country songs. I was a bit reluctant, I am not a big fan of country music. But I have loved all of Ms. Lind’s work so far and so I went into this story and this series with an open mind.

I am so glad I did….I may still not care for country music, but I am so loving this series!

Drunk Girl is the next book in this series and I absolutely loved it.

Ms. Lind brings the heat, brings the heart and brings the angst that a good story needs.

This is Ashley and Nick’s story.

Ashley has had a craptacular day, and decides to drowned her sorrows at Nick’s bar. Nick sees a girl filled with sorrow and wants to help, in the most gentlemanly way possible. (Swoon, swoon)

Ashley has a strength within her to overcome her horrible past. Yet she guards her heart and her soul against further hurt.

I floved how Nick was able to show Ashley what a real man is capable of. What a real man does for the woman he loves.

This story is beautiful, and swoony and maybe change your attitude towards country lyrics! (Wink, wink!!)

My Review…

What a lovely little novella!!

A delicious little tidbit to give the readers a Bailey family fix while we wait patiently (insert sarcasm here) for the next full installment from Lake Starlight and the Bailey family.

To see little snapshots of how all the Baileys are doing and their significant others. (Those that have them and those who might!!)

I loved the alternate POV’s (even some that really surprised me).

It was a funny, swoony and I’ll admit I got a bit teary myself reading about Austin & Holly’s wedding.

Well done Piper Rayne in giving me and your readers something quick and fun to help us get by until the next full installment in this series!

I can’t wait to get my hands on Savannah & Liam’s story next!!
