Inside the windowed room, I set one of the glasses on a table next to the loveseat then dimmed the overhead before taking the other glass to the armchair across from it. The string of lights that had been put up outside for the party were still lit, creating a romantic mood. Not exactly what I was going for, but it would do. In my experience, the darker setting made confessions easier.

I stretched my neck, easing the knots there as I looked out over the yard. The day had been busy and full, and the party had been, by all accounts, successful, but I’d spent the entire time preoccupied with Edward. Even when entertaining strangers or running around trying to find Ilsa to tell her we were out of toilet paper, I’d been aware of my husband. He was a magnetic force, always pulling my thoughts and my body in his direction. Like gravity holding me in his orbit.

I’d never felt that way about anyone before. Not just that in love but also that attached. I was still reeling from the newness of it, eighteen months after we’d wed.

I was also still adjusting to the way he affected me. How he’d brought me peace yet could stir up levels of jealousy within me that I’d never thought possible. His trip to the garden with Marion was innocent—it had to be considering the way he grinned at me when he’d returned. The devil himself wouldn’t flaunt his discretions so openly.

My Review…

This story just gets more and more interesting.

The reader gets to dive more and more into the psyche of both Celia and Edward. The way that Ms. Paige writes brings the reader into their world is amazing and feels so genuine.  The atrocities and damage that has been done to Celia, the need for vengeance and revenge for Edward burn up the pages and I couldn’t put it down until the end.

This brings Celia’s past to the forefront, I continue to empathize with her and how she is evolving into a more relatable character.  I continued to understand why she was so cold and calculating and how Edward had to break her down to help her build herself back up again.  I also admired how even though all that she still has steel in her spine and isn’t afraid to fight back for what she truly believes in.

Edward continues to be a man you almost hate to love, but he continues to surprise me and I am seeing some real redeemable qualities to him.  He truly wants Celia to come around to his way of thinking concerning his need for revenge.

This third book was amazing and the ending!!! Oh my me, I cannot wait until May!

This is the first book by this author and it made me smolder!

This story has all the hallmarks of a good romantic thriller, it’s got the heat, the heart, mystery and thrilling action!

This is the story of Sarah and Jackson.

Sarah is boho chic! She is happy with her world of friends. She thinks her world is fulfilled and then she meets Jackson and realizes that her soul is calling out to him. When her world start to crumble and she feels vulnerable and scared she relies on both her best friends and Jackson to help her through.

Jackson is a true swoony hero, he is what every alpha should be.  He is there when Sarah needs him and knows when to step back and let her shine on her own.

This story has a mystery that kept me guessing until the very end!  The hints and innuendos that Ms. Autumn relayed throughout the story had me thinking it’s this character or nope, no, it’s this character! So, so good!

I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!!

Covet Series

Oh my me.  This story, this duet of books is going to give you all the feels.

This is Julian’s story.  Waking up from a coma to find his whole world has changed.  To see and learn things so upheaving and mind-blowing that he is struggling to cope.

Now I will admit, I was a bit leery going into this story.  The first book in this series,  Stealing Her, had painted Julian in a twisted color.  He seemed arrogant and selfish and almost unredeemable.

But a true testament to the talent and magic of Ms. Van Dkyen’s writing and storytelling skills was this story, Finding Him. Because that is what this story is about.  Seeing and finding the real Julian.  And that’s what Keaton did, she found the man, the beautiful soul behind all the drama and negativity.

Keaton is suffering too, she has had one of the most tragic losses anyone can face. Unfortunately being in the spotlight the way she has been all her life can create a whole new set of problems on how to proceed with tragedy and loss.

I absolutely loved this story, I cried, I laughed and I also cheered hard for Julain! Bravo sir for standing up for what your heart wanted and for not taking just “enough” but for demanding it all!

The Dumonts

What a finale! Ms. Hale saved the best for last.  The character you loved to hate in the previous stories in this series, Pascal, gets his moment to tell his story.

Pascal Dumont the villain, the hated Dumont.  He gets his chance at redemption in this story and Ms. Hale amazes me with her ability to take such a reviled character and bring him to heroism.

This story of Pascal and Gabrielle brings the Dumonts full circle.  Secrets are revealed, mysteries are solved and the devil is forced to pay his dues.

This was a beautifully written story, set in the beautiful country of France and Spain.  Ms. Hale has such a talent for bringing vision to her words.  You can see yourself on the cliffs of Mallorca to the historical beauty of Paris.

The love between Pascal and Gabrielle is hard-fought.  It was fragile and vulnerable until it needed to be strong. And it so was! Both Pascal and Gabrielle’s pasts were fraught with ugliness and scars but they fit each other perfectly.

If you are looking for a lush, beautiful story, get your hands on this.  In fact get your hands on the whole series.

Gah!!! What a smoking hot introduction to this new trilogy by the phenomenal author!

This is the first book in the Reed Rivers trilogy.

The chemistry between Georgina and Reed is like rocket fuel! So, so hawt!

I am so loving this deep dive into the character of Reed.  He has had a lot thrown at him throughout his life and it has built battle scars.  With the success of his music business he has developed even more walls around himself (and rightly so).

Georgina is hungry, she is fierce and she too has built walls around herself.  She is the perfect person for Reed.  I can’t wait to find out more about her in the upcoming books!

The dialogue between Reed and Georgina is whip-smart and so smexy!  This is a fun, fresh and fantastic story! I have yet to read anything by Lauren Rowe that hasn’t rocked me!

This is a totally stand-alone series but since I have read everything that Ms. Rowe has written, I loved seeing past characters making appearances! It was like a little reunion!

I am going to be waiting not so patiently for the next book in this series!  So well done!

Indianapolis Lightning – Book One

The end is just the beginning of this new story and a new series by Samantha Lind.

This is the story of the marriage between Derrick and Jillian Smyth. It’s about love and family and sometimes having to hit absolute rock bottom to see the light of the future in front of you!

This story is the beginning of what I am sure to be a fantastic new series about the Indianapolis Lightning baseball team!

I love the simplicity of the story and the complexities of the marriage.  Ms. Lind has a wonderful talent for taking the normal world and turning it extraordinal!

I admired the determination of Derek in his resoluteness of getting what he wants.  He is a star pitcher for the Lightning and fame sometimes can bring the downfall of a person.  He finally puts his family to the forefront and it’s fun to read the way he goes about wooing Jillian.

Jillian is grace under pressure, she has been burned and she is slow and steady in moving forward.  Her love for Derek never waivers.  Her trust in him is fragile but deep down she knows what she wants and will do what she has to for her kids and her husband.

Way to go Samantha!! I cannot wait to see where this new team of characters takes us in the future!
