Dear Jackson,
I’m leaving you this note because I know you’re very busy and I don’t want to waste the town sheriff’s time. Lord knows I’ve already wasted enough of it.

Thank you for taking me home last night and…everything else. I made you a basket of wild blueberry muffins for your trouble. That seemed like the appropriate baked good for getting naked in your living room.

I wasn’t myself last night. I didn’t mean to kiss you or fondle your backside or ask all those intimate questions. Thank you for pretending to enjoy it.

It was very noble of you to sleep on the couch while I was starfished on your bed. I couldn’t help but notice it’s quite large. The bed, that is. I swear, I didn’t notice anything else when I let myself out this morning.

As you know, Talbott’s Cove is a ridiculously small town and there’s no chance we can avoid each other. Not that I’d want to avoid you, of course, but I’m not sure I can look at you without thinking of the forty different ways I made a fool of myself.

Instead of avoidance, let’s try to be friends. We’ll forget all about last night…if that’s what you want.

Please burn this note after you read it—

Annette

p.s. I whipped up some cinnamon buns, too. Please enjoy them. I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t get buns out of my mind today.

My Review…

Samantha really knows how to write a lovely, happy, romantic and steamy story!

We have been teased with bits about Madison and Richard in the first two books of the Indianapolis Eagles series and now we get the full story!  I have been waiting anxiously for this!

Madison is a career woman, she is a hard as nails sports agent and she works hard to support her clients.  She has had a friendship with Richard (Murph – to his friends and teammates) for YEARS and it has moved to the friends with benefits stage for a while.  But she is looking for more.  She is wanting the whole package, with feelings! And she wants it with Richard.  However, she doesn’t want to lose the fantastic friendship her and Richard have.  What’s a girl to do?  What she doesn’t realize is…

Richard, oh my! I love his vulnerability.  He too wants more from his “friendship” with Madison but doesn’t want to chance losing her.  But when push comes to shove, he rises to the occasion brilliantly and makes sure that Madison knows where she stands with him.

I wanted to shake the both of them for waiting soooo long, but in the end it was worth it!

This is a low angst, lots of love romance, must read, that is classic Samantha! She is really knocking her stories out of the park and is getting better and better with each book she releases!  Well done, Samantha! Well done!!

Title: Save the Date
Author: Carrie Aarons
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Cover Design: Sarah Hansen, Okay Creations

Release Date: June 24, 2018
Blurb
You know that pact you make with your childhood best
friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely
and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?
This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to
make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well,
you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at
backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for
years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a
really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart
is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off, when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But
when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you’re
standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to
walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

I’d always loved her even if she never knew.

Growing up as Avery’s friend was the hardest part of it all, especially when all I wanted to do was claim her as mine. But I was that awkward, geeky kid with the black-rimmed glasses and was a social outcast.

Time and distance had separated us but I never forgot about her. My love for Avery never lessened. It only grew.

Now back in town, working as a firefighter. I doubt she’ll recognize me. I’m big, strong, and confident, so different than what I was all those years ago. Seeing her again after so long has me realizing too much time has passed. I know what has to be done.

I need to let Avery know she’s mine and that nothing and no one would stop me from claiming her.
Warning: This is a friends-to-lovers, double virgin safe romance that also has that spark of filth thrown in. Yes, you read that right … double virgins. No need to wear protection for this one because these two know exactly what they want and that’s each other.

Jackson

I’d gone to the hospital to check on the little old lady that I’d grabbed out of the fire. She reminded me of my grandmother, and I’d had this desire to make sure she was doing okay.

I made my way down the hall toward her room, gave the door two knocks, and pushed it open. A woman sat in front of the hospital bed, her long dark hair falling over her shoulders in tumbling waves.

She must have heard me enter because she stood up and turned, facing me.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt,” I said, about to turn around, but everything in my body froze.

Avery Sinclair.

Everything in me froze, became as still as the calmest waters. Avery, the one woman I’d always loved. The girl I’d grown up around but left so many years ago it now seemed like a distant memory.

But she was here, standing right in front of me, looking like a woman instead of the teenager I’d known back in the day.

I saw the realization filter across her face, knew she was probably just as shocked as I was. Looking over her shoulder at the older woman, it was then that I realized who exactly she was. I hadn’t put two and two together the other day, didn’t even recognize the name at first. What with Avery having a different last name and always calling her grandmother Gigi, it hadn’t even occurred to me that the woman I’d saved was Avery’s grandmother.

I looked back at Avery, every part of me wanting to go to her, to make her mine.

“Oh, my God,” she whispered, lifting her hand and placing it over her mouth. She stood like that for long seconds, then dropped her hand to her side. “Jackson?” She chuckled, but it was one filled with nervousness. “Is that really you?” She shook her head slightly. “I almost didn’t recognize you. You…” She looked me up and down. “You look so different.” She stared into my face again. “But your eyes,” she whispered. “I’d remember them, recognize them anywhere, no matter how many years have passed.”

I didn’t answer right away, just looked my fill of her. She was all curves, the T-shirt she wore fitting her snugly and showing off the large mounds of her breasts and tapering down to her curvy waist. She had that hourglass shape going on to perfection.

“I can’t believe it’s really you,” she said again, taking a step closer to me.

“Yeah, I’m thinking the same thing,” I finally said. I stared into her chocolate brown eyes, ones I’d gotten lost in so many times when we were younger. We’d been friends, but not close enough that I had ever told her how I felt. Hell, I’d been too afraid of myself back then to admit my feelings. I still remembered the day I told her I was leaving, how she’d seemed genuinely sad by it, how I’d felt like my whole world was being ripped from me.

Our letters had tapered off over the years until there were no more. But I never stopped loving her, never stopped wanting her. She was mine. Avery always had been and always would be.

“You look different, Jackson,” she repeated and I saw the way her cheeks turned red.

My heart skipped a beat. Yeah, I knew I looked a hell of a lot different than when she’d last seen me.

Gone was the geeky, scrawny kid who got pushed around. In his place was a man towering at six foot three, heavily muscled from working out and building myself up, and contacts replacing the black-rimmed glasses I used to wear. Gone was the string bean who let asshole jocks like Frankie shoulder check him into lockers. How would she feel if she knew that I’d waited in every aspect of my life to be with her? How would Avery react if she knew that I’d saved myself for her … only her?

I was no longer that skinny kid scared of his own shadow. I was big and strong, a firefighter and back in town to let the only girl I had ever loved know that she was mine.

My Review…

What a quick, fun story! This is the first book I have read from Mila.

This is the story we all want when we were girls.  Nerdy boy and beautiful girl becomes friends.  Time separates them and boy comes back as a strong alpha man!

This was a page turner! I was sad to see it end, but loved the multiple epilogues at the end that finished their story beautifully!

I am going to have to keep my eye out for more stories from this author! If you are looking for a quick, perfect read, get this!

Excerpt
My body heats at the words, at the remembered pleasure of Sutton’s mouth on my sex. Christopher looks down at me, as if he can feel the heat emanating from between my legs. His expression turns stark, as if he’s in pain. That’s only fair,
because I’m in pain too.
“You deserve better than that,” Christopher says, but there’s no way to pretend he’s
talking about Sutton. He’s talking about himself and we both know it.
“He gives me what I want, which is something you might try next time you like a girl.”
“It wasn’t that,” he says, harsh again.
“No?” I step forward and place a hand on his chest, feeling the way his heart beats
strong and fast. He may want to be unaffected by me, but he isn’t. I tilt my
face up toward him. “You didn’t imagine me naked in the cabin later?”
He sucks in a breath. “You were too young then.”
My words come out as a whisper. “What about now? Will you do what Sutton said—imagine me in this dress when you go home after this?”
“It’s not fucking decent,” he says, even though the silk covers every part of me. It’s a
perfectly respectable dress, when it’s not hitched up around my waist.
“You can thank Sutton for this,” I say, because it’s true. He’s the only reason I lean
forward and place my lips against Christopher’s, touching them in some terrible
attempt to show him what he gave up, to prove to myself that I don’t care about
either of them.
Christopher sucks in a breath. For a second I think he’s going to pull away. He stiffens and grasps my hair with his fist. Easy enough for him to stop the kiss. Instead
he dips my head back and deepens it, exploring my mouth with his teeth, his
tongue. Opening me wider until I whimper. Pulling me close until I can feel how
hard he is beneath his slacks.
His other hand fists in the gauze of my dress, and I realize he’s holding me with both
hands clenched—one in my hair and one in my clothes. I don’t know whether he’s
doing it so he doesn’t have to touch me or because it’s a way to control me
without bruising me. He uses both hands to tug me closer; I’m pressed so
tightly I can’t imagine getting away.
Where Sutton had been raw sensuality and playfulness, Christopher is pure
determination. He kisses me like he’s a conquering army, like I’m made of gold
he has to grasp—or lose forever.

My Review…

Holy drama Batman! This book is gonna grab you by the throat! This story isn’t gonna let you go until maybe the end…It still has me thinking…

This is the story of Harper, Christopher and Sutton. Yeah, that’s right, it’s three people. And what a tangled web they weave.

Harper has a true artist soul. She is a child of divorce. She walks the fine line between her mother and her father, sharing only enough to appease both. She is fierce in her beliefs. She is a true rock star, even though she doesn’t feel like it.

Christopher, so stoic, so stable. He saves Harper, even when she doesn’t want him to. He hides his true feelings for everyone and everything. He wants what he feels he can’t have. He is an enigma…I so hope to learn more about him.

Sutton is pure southern charm.  He is a player in the true sense.  He loves the hunt, he loves the chase. He knows what he is up against and goes for it anyway. Is he a true southern gentleman or is he hiding something?

The chemistry in this story is just….man, I can’t even come up for the right word. There is particularly one scene…you will know it when you read it, that is just epic!

I am so torn! Which team should I cheer for? Team Christopher or Team Sutton? Trust me when you read this, you will have the same dilemma.

I have so many questions when I finished this! I need to know so much more! I am waiting on pins and needles for the next book in this series!

This is definitely a MUST READ! Skye, I bow down to your fabulousness, your talent, your epic storytelling skills! You have a gift and I am so glad you share it with us readers!!

My Review…

What a seriously funny, touching, low angst book by Daisy Prescott!

This is the story of Mae, Landon and Aiden…a bit of a triangle but such an easy one!

Mae is brilliantly funny! Daisy amazed me with this characters zippy comebacks and one liners. I wish I had more of Mae’s audacity! Absolutely loved it.

Landon, that poor man is a hot mess, but you can see small glimmers of redeeming qualities.  Sometimes you need more than just handsomeness to get you through life.

Aiden, oh my me.  He was fabulous! He tries to keep himself in check.  Tries to hold on and do the right thing.

This story was the first I read by Daisy Prescott.  This book is part of her Love With Altitude series.  Although this could technically be read as a stand alone, I believe I would have been able to better understand the back story and some of the secondary characters better if I have read the previous books in the series.  (I am going to go back and do that, then re-read this for the full experience)  I still truly enjoyed this book and I absolutely fell in love with the characters in this book!

I will be on the hunt for Daisy’s previous books! If they are as good as this one, I know I am in for a treat!

Knocked Up Cover_resize

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby in a baby carriage. Just not necessarily in that order….

Braxton: I should probably be dead or in jail right now. Instead, thanks to some tough love, I worked my ass off and now I own a string of tattoo parlors throughout the Pacific Northwest. And yet the one thing I’ve always wanted—a family—still seems out of reach. When my best friend gets married, I’m just hoping to blow off some steam with the super-hot maid of honor. But after Cara Thompson tracks me down to tell me she’s pregnant, she’s more surprised than I am when I tell her I’m all in.

Cara: For the first time in my life, I’m living for myself—not for my parents and their ridiculous expectations. I gave up on my MBA, dropped out of the Ivy League, and moved to Portland to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. And what’s the first thing I do? Get knocked up. For a tatted-up sex god, Braxton Henley seems way too eager to “be there for me.” Is this guy serious? Maybe. He sure is patient. Because he won’t back down until I admit what I know in my heart: that our one night stand might’ve led me to the one.

My Review…

Stacey really knows how to give us a true romantic comedy!

Knocked Up is the story of Cara and Braxton.  What a wild ride it is.

An epic one night stand (or weekend) with consequences, you know from the title what it is!

The humor in the story is fantastic.  The dialogue is smart, funny and quick!  This book was a real page turner, just waiting to see what was coming next.

Cara is trying hard to branch out on her own when she finds out she is pregnant.  But she does the right thing and tells Braxton he is her baby daddy.  She is such a lovely character.  She tries to handle things with grace, she truly does, but it never quite happens that way!

Braxton, oh whew! What a hero! He is everything you want in a romantic, alpha book boyfriend.  He wants a family, he wants Cara and the things he does just proves it.

No story is complete with a bit of angst and Stacey does so brilliantly. But the chemistry between Cara and Braxton is epic and holds true!

Another fantastic story from Stacey! I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next! This is another must read from her!

See My Review Below!!

Ari Daniels didn’t count on her whole world tumbling down around her in a mess of shredded promises, broken love, and unbelievable heartbreak. Alone and stricken with grief, she shouldered the blame and eventually closed her heart off, refusing to open it for another. After all, anytime she tried, guilt and regret were waiting in the wings to remind her how painful it was.

A bet and one steamy night with a stranger force Ari to confront all she’s been hiding behind. She tries to move on, but he refuses to stand down, wanting what she is terrified to give—herself. This man may very well destroy her in the end, especially when it’s clear he has his own demons.

What happens when two broken souls come together, finally allowing themselves to believe in the beauty of love … only to have to fight harder than ever to keep it.

My Review…

I am having a “slap myself upside the head” moment….. Why is the first book I have read by Harper?!? Sheesh, I am such a bad, bad reader/blogger….

I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this story! It was amazing!

Unconscious Hearts is the story of Thorn and Ari.

Oh Ari, such tragedy! I love that Harper only gave you small glimpses of exactly what that tragedy was until Ari told Thorn.  It felt like you were in the story with them. She has been alone for so long. She just couldn’t get over her past.  Then she caught the eyes of Thorn.

Thorn, oh for the love of alpha men! He is just everything a swoony, bossy, cocky hero is. He too has had tragedy in his past and it’s shaped him into the man he was.  Until he met Ari.  He is the ultimate book boyfriend!

This story is a page turner, a must read.  I could not put it down! I loved the fact that the characters were older, not all love affairs start in your 20’s.  I enjoyed the alternate POVs.  I especially liked the “evil one”.  It made it a real mystery! I was trying to figure it out the whole way through and when the mystery was revealed…dang!! I was blown away!

I am definitely going to be reading more from Harper Sloan! I can’t believe it has taken me this long! Just another example of finding new to me authors! I have heard a lot about Ms. Sloan, just never had the opportunity to read her stories until now.  Shame on me!!

Instead of giving me the nasty fight I expected, she gazed at me with tragedy in her eyes…then made an unexpected, gut-wrenching move that left me reeling…and vanished.
Elizabeth might’ve cut me out of her life, but I haven’t cut her out of mine.
Nothing’s over until I say it’s over.

I pull a chair up to Elizabeth’s bed and start to read. The first book is about a couple
that almost has sex—but doesn’t—with the girl hoping to never run into the guy again because she lied and then felt awkward about the relationship. So of course they run into each other again. I could’ve guessed that.
When I reach the first sex scene, I stop. “Well, here comes the good part. If you want me to continue, open your eyes,” I say softly. “Or else you’re going to miss out.”
Not even an eyelash flickers.
“Come on. You know you want me to keep going.” I skim a few paragraphs to see if the scene’s worthy bait. “Oh, look at that. He’s going down on her. Very dirtily, too.”
Only the rise and fall of her chest answers my futile coaxing.
Sighing, I put the book down. “All right, fine. You aren’t going to wake up for this. The
scene’s okay, but you know what? You and I have had way better.”
Because we have. We might have difficulties, but a lack of chemistry has never been our problem. Our issue was more about trust…and an inability to see the full picture, because I’m starting to realize Elizabeth and I each hold five hundred pieces of a thousand-piece puzzle.
I reach out and cradle her hand in my palm. “We had better from the very beginning.” My voice grows hoarse, and it isn’t from reading. “A fifth of a second. That’s all
the time it took for me to fall for you when you first showed up at the bar. My
head was wiped clean of everything except you.”
She still stays quiet, and somehow her silence urges me to go on, makes me feel like I can open up and tell her everything in my heart.
“You’re probably wondering why I’m here. After all, you gave me the portrait—the thing that matters the most to you. And I swore I’d take it from you. Call me perverse if you want, but I need to know why you gave it to me.
“Why didn’t you fight for it? I expected you to. Part of me wanted you to…so I’d know
didn’t misjudge you when I thought you were an angel who could make Lucifer piss himself.”
I draw in a shaky breath. Jesus. This is hard. Is she not going to wake up at all? Dr. Raydor swears there’s nothing physically wrong with her. Cold fear slithers in my chest, and I start talking faster.
“You know that once I found out about the crazy deal surrounding the portrait, I went to see Julian? Since there are rumors of how much he doesn’t like his children, including you, I thought I could make him give me the portrait to spite you.
Instead, he taunted me, saying Nate Sterling was there first. And I thought perhaps he came to see your father on your behalf.
“It was obvious your father doesn’t care about you, and he refused to hand it over. He
didn’t believe I would use it to spite you, because I apparently owe you one for what happened ten years ago.” I lean closer, staring at her, desperate for any hint of acknowledgment. Don’t people usually respond in some minute way, even deep in a coma? An eyelid flutter or something? Or is that all just Hollywood bullshit? “I was too furious to notice the subtle nuance, but I realized later that he meant you did something for me for which I’m still grateful.”
She’s still quiet, her eyes closed. I run a palm down my face. “Yu-Jin told me what happened ten years ago. Why didn’t you break my nose when I showed up at the charity dinner and said all those abominable things to you?”
Her fingers twitch in my grasp. Hope and despair war within me. Hope because maybe she’s waking up. Despair because I thought she moved yesterday only to realize I was imagining it. My head bent, I bring her knuckles to my forehead. And I pray with what depraved soul I have left that she wakes up.
God or whoever is up there, if she wakes up, I’ll donate however much you want to whatever cause you want. I swear I’ll be kinder…nicer.
“Water…” The word is so faint, at first I think I imagined it.
My head snaps up. Elizabeth is looking at me, her eyes winter gray, just like ten years ago. My heart hammers, and I blink a few times, wondering if I’m hallucinating
again.
It’s possible. I haven’t had a decent meal in almost eight days.
“Water…” she says again.
No. I’m not dreaming. This is real. I stare for a second, then jump to my feet and bring her a glass of water. I help her sit up a bit and drink.
Every movement of her throat is precious, and I exhale softly. Thank you, thank you, thank youAfter a few small sips, she pulls back a little, her shoulders rolled inward. She looks at me, her gaze wary. “Thank you. I guess?”
I ignore the shard of pain at the added “I guess.” Even now, she has doubts about my
intentions.
No shit, Sherlock. You did your best to make a mess of the situation.
“How do you feel?” I ask softly.
“I’m… My head hurts.” Frowning, she looks around the room. I’m glad I ordered some
orchids and lilies. It looks slightly livelier than it would have otherwise.
“Where am I?”
“You’re in a hospital. There was a concussion…some other injuries.”
“I see.”
She slowly raises one hand and touches her temple. Her expression grows thoughtful for a moment, her brow furrowing. Then she turns to me, her gaze roaming over my face as though she’s seeing me for the first time.
My gut churns. Did she actually hear what I said earlier?
But the question that slips from her lips blows everything away.
“Who are you?”

My Review…

This is the epic conclusion to the story of Dominic and Elizabeth…their story started with The Billionaire’s Claim – Obsession.  See my review here.

Wow! What a conclusion to this story!  This was a page turner and I could not put it down.

We have the fiery chemistry between Dominic and Elizabeth still blazing strong.

Dominic find out the true reason why Elizabeth did what she did ten years ago and realized what a colossal mistake he made.  He knows he is going to have to fight hard to win back the love of his life!

Elizabeth never wavered in her love for Dominic.  Even after all the awful things that he said to her.

There are twist and turns aplenty in this story!  This was exciting and beautiful conclusion to a wonderful duet.  This is a definite must read!!

There are some secondary characters that I hope to hear more about in future books.  Once you read this book, I know you will think as I do!

Thank you for your words Nadia! I can’t wait to see what comes next!

‘The Wedding Date’ gets a sexy twist in the new hilarious rom-com from Lila Monroe!
Is there anything worse than playing maid-of-honor to your bitchy college nemesis? Try it when she’s marrying your DAD! Olivia Chambers doesn’t know what she’s done to deserve this karmic retribution, but she needs a date to the wedding from hell – and fast. She’s used to matchmaking billionaires, but now she needs a Prince Charming of her own. Someone handsome and famous enough to make bridezilla and her minions drool with envy…

She’ll play his perfect date – if he’ll play hers.

The deal is simple! Or is it? Take one week in the Florida Keys, a dose of sizzling sexual tension, a madcap wedding, and some seriously humid frizzy hair, and Ryan and Olivia have the recipe for disaster… or maybe the time of their lives.

But can Olivia let down her guard long enough to let Ryan sweep her off her feet? And will Ryan take his eyes off the (business) prize long enough to see what’s right in front of him?

Find out in the hot, delicious new novel from Lila Monroe!

My Review…

Billionaire Bachelors – Book 3

I just flove this series! Each book can totally be read as a stand alone.

I was so looking forward to this book, I was excited to see that Olivia was getting her own story.

Wild Card is the story of Olivia and Ryan and what a fun, steamy, lovely read it is! I love the humor in Lila’s books!

Olivia owns and runs a matchmaking agency “…of the fake kind” as Olivia quotes.  She comes across as so put together, efficient, fantastic at her job and overall killin it in life.  But underneath, she is vulnerable, she’s fragile, she’s funny and quirky.  She doesn’t show that side that often, but once she meets Ryan, it just happens naturally.

Ryan is an ex-NFL star.  He has humble beginnings and has been trying to branch out into other areas of business to become more than just an ex-jock.  He needs someone with class and sophistication to help him maneuver in a world he has no idea how to do.

Olivia and Ryan’s chemistry is off the charts, what’s starts out as purely business goes so beyond.  This book is such a page turner, I was sad to see when it ended.  Each book in this series just gets better and better!

Do yourself a favor and get this book! It’s a perfect romantic comedy!
