It’s never too late to turn over a new leaf…
Charlie
Returning to my hometown was never part of my plan. Suddenly, I find myself back where I grew up and taking over my late parents’ beloved plant store. With a permanent scowl and zero customer service skills, I have no idea how to run a business—or keep plants alive. One night, a wild dog crashes into my store, creating an absolute mess in his path. The owner? Confident, charismatic, and utterly captivating. He’s determined to break down my carefully constructed walls one brick at a time.
Finn
Burnt out, exhausted, and a bit directionless, no one warned me that moving forward could feel like moving backward. After leaving my stressful corporate job, I packed up my life and returned to my home state of Oregon, eagerly chasing my dream of opening a coffee shop. One night, my overly energetic dog barrels into a quaint plant store, causing a complete disaster. The owner? Grouchy, gorgeous, and guarded. She’s exactly what I’ve been searching for all along.
Although our paths collide in a hectic disaster, we embark on a journey to discover the true meaning of turning over a new leaf.

My Review...
Well, well, well…
A new-to-me author and what a debut novel!
This is a story, set in the fictional town of Hemlock, that grabbed me from the get-go.
This is the story of Charlie and Finn, and what a beautiful relationship it became.
Charlie is struggling; she is dealing with a ginormous loss. Embracing the fake it till you make it mantra while keeping the family business afloat. I love her quirks, her vulnerabilities (which we all share), and even her crumudgery. To see her go through her grief in a real and delicate way is going to put your heart through the wringer.
Finn, oh my what a hero…we all need a Finn in our life. He smoothed out all of Charlie’s sharp edges, and the way he carefully navigated and acknowledged Charlie was a total swoonfest. He was what Charlie didn’t know she needed, but he was there, and he was able to “see” her like no one else.
Full of heart, heat, and swoons aplenty, this book had me locked in from the first page, and I cannot wait to see what comes next from this talented writer. Well done Ms. Wilde!
