Book Hangovers…are they a good thing?

Since I started this blog…(has it only really just been a month?!?) I have been introduced to some new, amazing authors and books. I haven’t even touched my wish list (or my to be read list…same thing) and that’s OK, because I just finished an ARC for a book that has truly left me with a book hangover and to be honest that rarely happens with me.  So when it does, I have to take a day or two and fully appreciate what I had just read.  I can’t wait to share it with you when it goes live, which will be soon, I promise!

So my answer to this question above….yes, I think they are a good thing, it makes you stop, it makes you think and it makes you appreciate the hard work and dedication a writer/author has so graciously given you as a reader.

Vegas Baby!

So as I finish packing for my trip to Vegas tomorrow with my dear husband and some close friends, I have double and triple checked to make sure I didn’t miss any postings that needed to be done and I made sure my Ipad with my Kindle app has all my ARC’s and my TBR reads on there ready to go! I am so excited for this trip! I have been really enjoying doing this blog, meeting new people and some fantastic PR companies!  Wish me luck!

Rambling…..

A saying I tell myself a lot is “Learn Something New Everyday”.  I believe if you’re not learning, you’re not living.  Since starting this blog a few short weeks ago, this saying has rung true with me.

One of the main reasons I wanted to start this was to introduce new people and some close, non-judgy friends and acquaintances to some of my favorite books and authors.  I was able to do that yet again yesterday when I introduced my friend to the wonderful world of Kate Canterbary.  She was one of the first authors that I started to follow on all the social media outlets, joined her readers group and generally fangirled all over her.  She was (unbeknownst to her) one of the pushes needed to start this blog adventure.

My blog logo says it all for me “Bibliophile” (That is my actual tattoo on my neck!) I am proud to call myself one and sure I have had to explain it quite a few times to people who didn’t know what it means…. OH and one person thought is said Pedophile!?! What the actual fuck!! I mean come on, who would tattoo that on themselves?!? Ignorant folks slay me…..

So as I close out, and learn some more new stuff today (the blog world is crazy!). I just want to say thanks for taking time to check this out and I hope to inspire more readers to some fantastic books and authors!

Happy Thanksgiving!

As I am getting things ready for my family Thanksgiving, I just want to wish everyone who is here with me a truly Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for this year! As you sit down with your family and friends today, please take a minute to remember the military service members that can’t be home with their families today.

Ready, set, GO!

So this my start, my beginning. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would ever start a blog I would have told you, in no uncertain terms, that you are nuts, crazy, bonkers or any other synonym to that effect.

However, I really had an inkling of an interest a few years ago when, through Facebook, I started following authors that I really enjoyed reading. I joined their readers groups and through them I was invited to be a part of some advanced reader teams. (Ahhh hello! Free books, never yet published or seen by the general public? Yes, please!)

I was excited about helping to promote and praise! Taking my role seriously, I posted my reviews on Amazon, Good Reads, iBooks, wherever I could. But I hesitated on promoting on my personal Facebook page because, some of my family and friends would judge me. I don’t hate, I am just aware.

So this past year, after making new friends in my readers groups and friendships with authors, I want to do more to help!

So I am starting this blog, not just because of my obsessive reading habits, to help people see what amazing worlds and stories these writers come up with!

Thanks for being a part of my journey! 🤓
